Determines weight restrictions, foreign clearance, POV shipment, weapons, Non-temporary Storage (NTS), Storage-In-Transit (SIT) and carrier/government liability. Determines methods and procedures for domestic and international shipments. Advises service members on special movement options including one-time-only, mobile homes, boats, HHG's preparing for volume moves to designated locations. Computes constructive cost for the Do-It-Yourself (DITY) Move, and instructs the member on entitlements, funding and submission for reimbursement.

While serving in this position I was working in Kuwait for the Defense Contingency Support Team as an emergency essential Traffic Management and General Supply Specialist for the Theater Consolidation and Shipping Point as well as the Defense Depot Kuwait. I assessed and analyzed product assurance outputs in relation to contractual technical requirements to determine if the acceptable performance levels were being met. I reviewed the quality assurance surveillance plan and establish procedures for conducting and documenting surveillance of the contractor's work, so that all products and services met contractual quality. I served as a consultant for contract quality assurance with responsibility for directing, developing and implementing quality assurance policies that supported contract surveillance management. I served as a contracting officer's representative on selected contracts, and recommending the issuance of necessary modifications to clarify questions concerning such topics as specification changes, or clarification of contract clauses. As a Traffic Management Specialist it is my responsibility to act as a technical adviser for outbound freight by providing expertise in the movement of freight to various destinations within and outside the continental US.
