[The main aim of IB is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people, who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.]

As a PYP HRT –

I teach the strands of English, Math, Science and Social Science under (the Six Transdisciplinary Theme) integrated Units of Inquiries.

While beginning an inquiry, I use significant strategies to test the prior knowledge of the students – to know where each student stands, so that I can cater to the exact requirements of each of my students.

I take up a wide range of strategies and learning engagements that are significant, relevant, engaging and challenging.

I plan exclusive learning engagements to develop the Learner’s Profile; and ensure that the students are sensitized to the importance of the same.

The students are encouraged to be curious and enthusiastic inquirers in researching using not only the books but also various resources like the library, ICT, search engines, etc.

The students are encouraged to use and develop the skills – recommended by IB – such as Social, Communication, Self-management, Research and Thinking Skills.

The learning is made more interesting through a variety of activities and strategies that the students love to have a hands on experience doing them.

On the whole, we make sure that the students balance themselves - with their scholastic and co-scholastic learning, and also putting into practice the Learner’s Profile and Skills they have acquired during their inquiries.

Apart from giving them holistic education, the children are groomed – to be responsible and sensible towards the nature, people and situations around them so that they become the better citizens of tomorrow.

As a Year-level Coordinator –

I, along with my co-teachers, collaboratively plan and ensure that we reach the desired learner’s outcome, through an array of strategies, fieldtrips, surveys and the like.

I monitor my co-teachers and ensure a smooth function of the discharge of responsibilities for a comfortable and hassle-free learning environment.

I strongly believe that leadership is not a post for a showoff but a great responsibility and teamwork. It is not ‘I’, it is ‘We’, when it comes to the successful completion of a student’s holistic education.
