DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspecting drilling equipment on a daily basis and repairing and replacing parts as required
Performing mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance on engines and equipment
Diagnosing faults, servicing, and carrying out necessary repairs on air compressors, pumps, and diesel engines
Coordinating with Maintenance Engineer and scheduling preventive maintenance program
Observing and implementing safety measures on assigned rig
Creating, maintaining, and updating daily log on routine maintenance work
Investigating breakdowns, determining spare parts required, and performing repair
Disassembled, overhauled, and assembled engine
Checked, repaired, and replaced engine parts
Initiated safety awareness programs and conducted training of new staff
Built and maintained engines, and centrifugal pumps
Performed welding, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work as required
Set up and operated drill press and other repair and maintenance tools
Carefully studied schematics to ensure that all repairs were performed correctly.
Worked hoisting and lifting devices to place heavy parts into place.
Maintained an updated inventory of all available replacement parts.
Maintained preventive and corrective measures for mechanical and mobile equipment along with rig machinery.
Regulated the rig with the help of the drillers to ensure the design parameters are maintained.
Operated various lifting and hoisting devices to install, repair and set up machinery.
Studied the blue prints and schematic drawings and carried the maintenance procedure accordingly.
Diagnoses and supervises repairs on malfunctioning of all types including diesel engines
Rig draw works, mud pumps, air compressor, transmission related equipments to assure continuity of operations
Safety and housekeeping proper care operations of rig equipments
Performing pipe fitting, rebuilding craft activities on the rig camp facilities
Performs periodic checks and routine maintenance on water well engine,
water lines servicing as rig water supply
Reading and understanding mechanical blue prints
HYDRAULIC WORKS
Hydraulic pump (Gear pump)assemble/dismantle, alignments, test run.
Hydraulic Oil refurbishment by oil purifier.

JOB DETAILS
ROTATING EQUIPMENTS HANDLED
PUMPS:
Involved in centrifugal Pumps overhauling mechanical seal assembling and aligning the
Pump with prime mover by reverse 7 graphical methods, rim and face method.
AIR COMPRESSOR
Air compressor of all parts servicing and overhauling head, piston ring, linear, Cylinder bore
Wear reducing inlet valve, delivering valve, cooling water circulation handling, Inlet cooler, air
cleaner, care, crane shaft bearing, journal bearing, main bearing, pulley belt, Pre filter, after filter,
dryer, header volume bottle instrument air recovery and instrument air tank Compressor panel
Board operation start-up.
DIESEL ENGINE
Having running maintenance experience in Kirloskar, Caterpillar and Detroit engines.
Involved preventive maintenance and rectify startup problem.
GAS TURBINES:
Assembly, Disassembly and Inspection of Turbine blades, Vane segments, Compressor Diaphragms,
Combustors, Transitions and Fuel nozzles. Turbine Bearing Charging and its Oil circuit and
Compartment cooling equipments maintenance. Alignments of Turbine Inter stage seals.
FIRE AND GAS EQUIPMENTS
Dry chemical powder and CO2 fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire water pumps, fire water
Sprinkler systems, fusible plugs, deluge valve, foam tank, fire& gas panel, Automatic / manually
Release system, fire and gas detectors, and H2S and flare fuel gas systems.
CRANE
Weather for Ruston power arm, Favelle favico and name of the engine Detroit caterpillar, Ruston diesel engine. Service the winch, change the Rope, Rope greasing, Service the Radiator and total crane maintenance.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
H 2 S safety, fire safety, using gas tester (CH 4, H 2 S), fire Extinguisher (foam DCP & Co 2 ) using in fire classification, fusible plug operation, deluge valve operation fire-water pump operation, Breathing Apparatus, Safety life Jacket, Gas Detector. Smoke Detector, heat detector operation, fixe monitoring system and electronic monitors.
