I am a design leader and a product developer with experiences in automotive, telecommunication, medical and robotic industries. My mission is to help building the right product faster. In my design process I use research, analytical thinking and user-centered design methodologies to help strategic product planning and create vision of user experience. For modeling and engineering products I use SolidWorks and Fusion 360. Many industries that I worked for allow me to have an insightful understanding of product requirements that I use for creative and innovative solutions. As a team player I tend to have unconventional ideas but with realistic approach to solving technical problems. Work in various machine shops gave me a good knowledge of prototype building and manufacturing processes including injection molding, blow molding, machining, metal forming and more. The need for many product presentations made me an expert in photorealistic product visualization and creation of sales and marketing materials. My passion for mechanical design creativity was awarded with 24 patents.

Summary:

•Passion for design challenges and good eye for detail.

•Ability to listen when preparing for strategic product planning. Use of hand sketch for complex geometry.

•Realistic approach to technical problem solving and pragmatic when moving forward with the project.

•Focus on user-centered design principles throughout the design process of physical and UI products.

•Innovation, using strong analytical skills and brainstorming, leading to patentable new products,

•Project management ability and team player with other groups,

•Skilled in surface, solid, polygon and T-Splines modeling as well as in physical model and prototype building.

•Business development ability using visualization tools to convey the message.

•Photo realistic product rendering and animation for marketing,

Software used:

Fusion 360, SolidWorks, 3DSMAX, KeyShot, Lumion, GIMP, Alias, Rhino, Maya, Photoshop. Unigraphics, AutoCAD.

Professional Experience:

ESI, Engineering Services Inc., Automation and Robotics Systems, Toronto, ON, 2016 – 2019

Industrial designer, mechanical designer, UI/UX designer, R&D.

Designed mobile robots, and UI/UX related to robot operation and interaction. Designed mechanical solutions and housing assemblies in Solidworks and Fusion 360. My design process starts with market research to identify and define potential users and their needs. I use concepts and scenarios to develop multiple design paths to open up possibilities. Based on research findings, I lead brainstorm meetings in order to define product attributes. I use many visual tools as means of communication between mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering groups. To eliminate most of mistakes, I apply agile and scrum principles. 3DSMAX helps me conceptualize robot movement and define its function. Later it helps analyze, review and apply ergonomics. Quick animations and videos that I make help communicating product function and its description when determining its commercial viability. At this point concepts become fully defined and this is the point when I start detailed engineering of plastic panels and housing assemblies for 3D print and for injection molding. All these steps are taken to steer engineering towards a path that increases probability of success of the product in the market. Some projects required UI/UX design for operating robots. My role was to create concept iterations with graphics and wireframes for software development phase. I also designed robot movement as a “reversed interface” that communicates robots’ behavior and its intention to humans. Prepared marketing materials with graphics, animations, photographs and product’s function description.
