Role : Software Engineer.

Project Description:

Myer is a retail chain of discount stores operating in Australia. Myer has more than 130 stores in Australia. Products include women’s, men’s, children, clothing, footwear, accessories, home wares, electrical and furniture.

The main aim of the Project is for extracting the data from different sources and transforms the data by using Integration Services transformations and loading into Data Warehouse .This is a data warehousing application made for the analysis and reporting purpose of the sales and marketing company. The dimensional modeling used in this project is star schema. Using this project we can generate various types of reports and generates reports for Sales and Profits in month wise and year wise.

Responsibilities:

Understanding existing business model and customer requirements.

Merging Data from Heterogeneous Data Stores by using Merge join.

Transformations like Lookup, Conditional Split, Multi Cast, Data Conversion, Union All and Merge join are mostly used.

Created and Deployed packages successfully .Implemented Package Configuration, Message Logging.

Generated the Reports Weekly and Monthly basis as per the Client Requirements.

Project Title : Sales Analysis System (SAS)

Description:

Tetra Group Ltd. Life Insurance is one of the leading super markets in North America. The project includes zonal wise analysis of sales, margins and annual growth is to be compared in a period of time. Data is extracted from different OLTP source systems, cleansed, transformed and loaded into warehouse.

We receive all modules data in the form of XML, Excel and flat files which need to be loaded into the Database schemas. The schemas are designed for the modules. All modules are logically related. For loading data into DB we are designing SSIS Packages and for data representation we are developing Reports by using SSRS.

Roles and responsibilities:.

Involved in Creating Database Objects like Tables, Stored Procedures, and Views for this project.

Gathered Requirements from the end user and involved in developing logical model and implementing requirements in SQL Server 2012.

Responsible for creating reports based on the requirements using Reporting Services.

Identified the database tables for defining the queries for the reports.

Identified and defined the Datasets for report generation.

Wrote queries for drill down reports to get the dataset required to build the report.

Deployed generated reports onto the Report Server to access it through browser.
