Professional Skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Multitasking
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Deadline driven, self-motivated and technically savvy
• Microsoft Office use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
• Great at working under pressure and in a fast pace environment Relevant Experience
Molecular Biology
• Used chemical formulation techniques to create an agar compound to grow tissue and bacteria strands.
• Sterilized a metal loop utensil to streak plate bacteria strands onto agar plates to maximize growth of bacteria colonies.
• Experience with several types of tissue and bacteria staining such as Western blot and Gram staining.
• Collected and cultured unknown bacteria, stained, analyzed the bacteria and how to kill it effectively. Chemistry
• Extracted and purified caffeine from tea leaves using solvent extraction techniques, purification techniques with vacuumed Buchner funnels, and used a distillation technique- thin layer chromatography
(TLC)
• Electrophoresis techniques were used to sort protein sizes along with DNA sizes to identify what protein, or strand.
• Extract and purify immunoglobulin from milk-Cheese cloth filtration, pH titration, cross flow filtration with mixed mode chromatography. Preformed SDS Page and ELISA tests to quantify quantity and purity of the protein.
• Enzyme kinetics was done using enzymatic assay and UV spectrophotometer techniques.
• Set up a new biodiesel plant for a project. Aspen HYSYS program was used, and knowledge about plants and organic chemistry reactions to convert triolein, soy oil, to gasoline was used. Molecular Genetics
• Created an experiment design by isolating a single known strand of DNA and implementing it into the plasmid of another cell.
• Used polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to duplicate the known DNA strand.
• A vortex machine was used to extract the DNA and known enzymes were used to cut the plasmid at a certain spot and to assemble the known DNA strand in that spot. Undergraduate Research 2017
• Monitored the fruit flies sleep and wake patterns from the certain genotypes.
• Cross bred them to further analyze their sleep and wake patterns to eventually cross with unknown genotypes and predict their sleep and wake patterns.
• Set up channels that would monitor the flies when they slept and were awake. Then collected and analyzed the data to determine how to further control their circadian rhythm with their genotype.
• Created a retinol compound and then used serial dilution techniques to get the correct concentration to dose the Fruit flies so we can control their sleep and wake patterns with their eyes using this compound. St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City: Student Observer 2015
• Shadowed surgeons in the OR and during office-based procedures to understand and learn how surgeons go about their day.
• Learned basic sterile techniques while shadowing surgeons and how to slide prep for the pathologist to screen for skin cancer.
Work Experience
Trinity Biotech 2018-2019
• Cross Trained in several areas along with understanding how to run different instruments in those areas
• High attention to detail in order to do primary and secondary reviews
• Multitasking while knowing how to prioritize what’s more important to finish first and last
• Work closely with R&D and engineering to trouble shoot problems that arise while QC testing material
• Understand how to read HPLC data along with understanding how to interpret the different blood peeks that elute off.
• Develop experimental protocols and update SOP’s, protocols, etc that are consistent with cGMP and GLP Xenometrics 2017
• Read and Understand GLP and SOP’s while working on every drug study given.
• Worked within a team and independently to dissect large and small animals.
• Multitasking in the necropsy section of the lab and worked in a fast pace environment.
• Archived tissue samples.
• Slide prep and stained tissue for examination.
• Prepared chemicals to fixate the organs and made buffers for the decalcification process for bones.
