Responsibilities towards Patient Care

Admission and care, check the vitals of patient’s hourly basis along with date and time (eg.BP, Pulse, Temp., Respiration). Assess and do all needs. Assist doctors during daily rounds. Maintain clean and safe environment for thepatient.

Technical Tasks related to Nursing Care

Administration of medication that is tablets, injections, infusions and transfusions on prescription or according to standinginstructions.

Assist doctors in various diagnostics procedures like lumbar puncture, bone marrow aspiration and pleural aspiration by preparing patients and get ready with required things.

Assist doctors for doing suturing and closedreduction

Performing simple diagnostic procedures like, urinalysis, GRBSetc.

Maintenance of intake output chart (eg.Oral, R.T.Feeding, IV fluid, Urineoutput)

Management of intra venous fluid, blood transfusion and inotropics (eg.Dopamine,

dobutamine etc)

Hot and cold application (eg. Ice bag, hot waterbag).

Care of the pressure sore (eg. Frequent back care andpositioning)

Maintenance of Nutritional status (eg. Oral and NGTfeeding)

Well versed with following procedures like CPR, IV cannulation, Rylestubes insertion, catheterization, Nebulization oxygen administrationsuctioning.

Observation of all patient’s conditions and takes suitable action accordinglyand

report changes to concerned doctors.

Gives expert bedside nursing to allpatients.
