Assessment Task (ISAT) A program was needed for a college fundraiser which involved the sale of computers. The program

allowed the client to choose all of their computer parts according to their individual requirements.

After all selections had been made, the program

calculated the price of the computer including VAT. Also, I had to build a circuit board with 3 LEDs on it. 2 of my 3 LEDs worked on completion.

ISAT The scenario for the ISAT was that Monument

College had asked me to create a computer program

that would allow students to register on a

computerized system as opposed to registering on a manual system. On completion, my program

allowed existing students to log in and choose the subjects they would be doing that year after which the program gave them feedback to confirm their

subjects and to tell them who their lecturers would be. The program also allowed new students to

register with their details and thereafter they would follow the same process as the existing students.

I had to build a computer from scratch, install the operating system as well as application software.

I also had to participate in a simulated phone call with an irate customer and help them to solve their problem.

Level 4 ISAT Programming: I had to build a program that would calculate the BMI of gym members and recommend

a membership class according to the result. If a

member registered, the program had to update the

database with the new member's details.

Data Communication and Networking: I had to set

up a network and a shared network printer; I also

had to install antivirus software.

System Analysis and Design: I had to hold an

interview with someone from a company in the

surrounding area to find out more about the

computer system their business uses. Thereafter, I had to design a system that would improve on the

current system and plan the implementation.
