RESEARCH PROFILE
I was involved in clinical research initially in urology and later on in pediatric anesthesia during my residency this has given me critical insight into the perioperative care of patients specially a pediatric patient as pediatric anesthesia is the field I have done specialization. Pagala P, Tetsoti L, Nagpal D, Wise G: “Aging effects on the contractility of Longitudinal and Circular Detrusor and Trigone of rat bladder”. The Journal of Urology 2001; 166: 721-727.
Golden L, Pagala M, Nagpal D, Ahmad A, Mahanta A: “Giving toys to children reduces their anxiety about receiving premedication for surgery”. Anesth Anal 2006; 102:1070-2.
Nagpal D: “Case report on management of benzocaine induced meth- hemoglobinemia in a patient undergoing cervical laminectomy”. - submitted to Journal of Clinical Anesthesia.
Nagpal D: “Case report on the uncoiling of the wire of epidural catheter and it’s management.” To be submitted to Journal of Regional Anesthesia. CLINICAL PROFILE
As an Attending anesthesiologist I have been involved in the clinical education of medical students and residents in the various teaching institutions where I have worked over the last few years of my career. I have seen these young resident grow into well trained anesthesiologist providing safe care of all patients including the pediatric population which was majority of my practice, this has been personally and professionally rewarding experience.
I have participated in clinical case presentations and grand rounds involved in improving patient’s quality of care over the years.
IMPACT
I have been involved in the clinical education of residents and medical students in various teaching institutions I had the privilege and honor of providing anesthesia care and this has resulted in well trained anesthesiologist to meet the challenges of the dynamic practice of anesthesiology.
