Tie in scheduling in accordance to shut down brownfield facility. Section Layouts, model, MTO and isometrics for 6” bypass line. Checking of 3D model generated by PDS, using Smart Plant software. Checking Plot plans to match line numbers, flow, support marks, title block etc. as per check lists. Consult PDS admin and resolve hold points identified by designers also those identified while checking.
Package handled was Sea Water Distillation.
FROM JUNE 2015 – TO JULY 2016
SR. PIPING ENGINEER, PETROFAC, SHARJAH, UAE
Worked in Proposal job for PDO (Lead Estimator, Oman SNDC & KDC Projects). Man-hour estimation, specification generation and materials are major activities being performed. Various proposal and estimation activities. MTO generation from P&IDs using in-house PPMS software. Costing, RFQ and TBE, PO generation to vendors. Estimation mostly for Green field jobs. Scope study and risk assessment to support post engineering activities. Load calculation reports and support count for CIVIL interface were produced for estimation. Other disciplines like HSE, electrical, instrumentation, construction were supported with information gathered. DOQOOM project estimation activity also done.
Shell DEPs were handled from Shell DEP version 32(feb, 2011), which specifies exact manufacture criteria for materials and specifications acceptable to Shell related Projects concerning vendor supply, manufacturing techniques, construction respectively acceptable for Shell projects. Piping material, valve material/specifications are governed by these DEPs. Similar trend for SAUDI ARAMCO projects. All vendor’s supply that meets DEP criteria were selected from AVL (available vendor list) that were provided for project being executed. For MTO of materials (piping), requisitions and costing down the line these specifications were mandatory along with AVL to appear with correct POs (purchase orders). As a part of proposal and estimation Shell DEPs played a vital role.
Packages handled were Chemical Injection, Nitrogen, Plant Water, Instrument Air, SRU (by third party), Effluent treatment and TEG packages as specified and developed on process requirements.
FROM JUNE 2014 – TO MARCH 2015
SR. PIPING ENGINEER, WORLEY PARSONS, ABUDHABI, UAE
As Senior Piping Engineer worked for Shell, Rehabilitation of West Qurna Project CS6, 7 & 8, Basrah, Iraq. Scope of work included, Construction BOQ as per tie-in requirements, Specification preparation, Pipe wall thickness calculation, sketches, Material Requisition, Piping Bulk MTO, Piping support specification preparation, tie-in schedule and isometrics, respectively. Plot Plan, GA, guide engineers for modelling using PDS, further reviewing in SPR, followed by isometric development for new scope of work. As reference photogrammetry /raster site images from existing plants were used. Included IRAQ site visit frequently.
Attend various Client Interface and HAZOP, model review meetings. Handling a team of three designers or two modelers varying on Project demand. Maintain schedules to match Project milestones, inter-disciplinary checking and commenting as necessary. Tie in location identification, matching sketches at Brownfield plant during site visits and capturing feasibility of providing tie-ups at proposed locations were checked.
Chemical Injection and TEG packages were handled.
Shell DEPs were followed for MTO derivation of materials, followed by estimation, requisition procurement respectively.
Most UAE based projects related to materials widely call for Shell DEP or Saudi Aramco specifications.
