Selected to be an interviewer in the Newsroom of the Future Project. This was a companywide initiative designed to align our newsroom employees’ skill sets with the necessary digital skills to ensure success as Gannett transitioned to a digital product. I conducted over 96 interviews at 4 sites.

Human Resources Business Partner

Advise front line managers and employees on day to day Human Resources related issues in the Finance, Production and IT divisions.
Successfully recruited and on-boarded over 300 part time employees in our Production Department’s highest turnover position.
Key participant in Gannett Publishing Services HR Special Projects Team. Projects completed included: update of all job descriptions, redeveloped employee on-boarding for circulation sales and marketing teams and development of SharePoint site for managers at remote locations.
Co-Chair for the Purpose Committee. This group promoted a strong employee culture and employee development. As co-chair, I was a strategic leader in the development and execution of over 8 employee focused events to promote a unified cross departmental interaction and community service. The main community services project was Gannett’s annual Make A Difference Day project. I assisted in the organization of this project which included working with multiple outside partners such as Hands on Nashville, Second Harvest Food bank and Nashville Next.
Managed on site employee funded fitness center. Increased membership by 10% and maintained budget of $20,000 per year.

Managed more than 1000 worker’s compensation claims and over 50 Benefits Review Conferences for worker’s compensation claims with 95% favorable closure rate.
Collaborated with our workers compensation carrier to develop and implement an accident and investigation program specifically for our management team to reduce the number of repeat accidents. The result was a 20% reduction in losses.
