18+ years of experience in the Electrifying world of Power Generation in Gas Turbine combined cycle power plant and Diesel Engine power plant. GCEL Power plant comprises of 2*685MW Coal Based Supercritical thermal power plant Make of Doosan Steam generator semi-outdoor, balance draught & Maximum continuous Evaporation of 256 Bar/570deg.celsius.

Familiarisation of Main plant systems (BTG),BOP operations (CHP,AHP, RAW water,CW system DM Plant, FWPH, FOPH)

Involved in operation of coal handling & ASH Handling operations.

Involved in work permit issuing through SAP.

Review of the final issue of PID s from point of view of commissioning and start-up, issuing of PID s modification according with project standards and regulations

Preparation of scope and the responsibilities for commissioning activities & commissioning plan.

Identification of systems and sub-systems by marking up of PID s system definition

Development of commissioning procedures

Development of safety procedures to be used during commissioning activities such as tagging, vessels entry for inspections, isolation & blind installation procedures and work permit procedures in collaboration with EHS department.

Operation of Emergency Diesel Generator and ensure its availability by routine trials

Isolation and restoration of all types of HT/LT electrical equipment s including Power and distribution transformers,400 KV & 6.6KV Station Switchgear, 415 MCC s, AC/DC distribution boards, lighting DB s, motors, battery chargers, etc.

Responsible for recording all operation related activities including log books, check lists, PTW, defect list and logic forcing register documents.

GMR Power plant comprises of 4X50MW Dual fuel engine (Hyundai Man B&W) ABB Generator and Steam Turbine Generator of 0.6 MW.

The main responsibility is of starting & stopping of the unit,monitoring of Engine parameters, Auxiliaries and Feeder flow in DCS thereby no affection in output power and communicating with field Operators, directly reporting to the Manager Operation about the work progress, Co-ordinating with Tamil Nadu Electricity Board / LDC about load conditions, controlling Switch yard consisting of 5 Feeders, Issue / cancel permit to work system through SAP, and improving the efficiency of PLF, Management of Men & Material

Providing Technical support services to Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation and (based on Inspection and PMs).

Generating reports for senior management on Daily and monthly basis - Consumption of consumables, Fuel, Lubes and chemicals.

Involved in operation and monitoring of Steam Turbine Generator of 0.6 MW in DCS

Engineer (Operation) in Hyundai Heavy Industries (O&M Contractor for GMR Power Corporation Chennai)

To record all critical parameters of the main engine & auxiliaries regularly during each shit.

To raise trouble reports whenever necessary & attend trouble reports if required.

To operate & maintain waste heat recovery boiler pressure & its auxiliaries

To operate lube oil & HFO purifiers, Compressor, Pumps, Cooling towers & other Auxiliaries in relation to main engine.

Fuel & Efficiency Management

Coordinate with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for receipt of Fuel & Lube Oil and working out the Efficiency of the Engine performance.

Performance monitoring of critical plant parameters, review and reporting.

Maintenance of History records for Liners, Cylinder Head, Piston, Air coolers, Turbo chargers and associated parts.

Process Support Team Management & Development

Involved in the Practice of ISO, OHSAS, 5S & Six Sigma end-to-end projects.

Achievements

Achieved reduction in Lube Oil consumption by studying system losses & minimizing consumption in Power Plant from 0.350 to 0.175 gm/kw hr, which resulted in reduction of 12 kL /month in 200MW Diesel plant

Reduction of fuel oil consumption at part load was achieved in 200MW Diesel plant

Maximized STG load by controlling of steam distribution to other sources (600 kw stg)
