Educational Counselor, MAS Education Center 2018-Present

As the founder and principal of the education center I lead the full time school, manage and arrange afternoon and weekend tutoring sessions for K-12 students for all elementary school subjects, Arabic language, and Islamic Studies. The education center is a full time Elementary school, Tutoring Center, and Professional Education Training Center. I provide Professional Development (PD) sessions for teachers and other professional educators. As a recognized PD vendor, educators can use these PDU’s towards earning or renewing their teaching licenses or school administration licenses.

Principal, ICCI Academy 2012-Present

During my tenure as principal, I was able to earn and maintain the Illinois State Board of Education accreditation for ICCI Academy. ICCI Academy is a private full time accredited school that teaches Pre-k through 8th grade. I observe, evaluate, manage staff, and offer staff development sessions for our educators. As the principal, I was responsible for planning and developing our annual calendar, parents’ conference days, and other school events. In the years I have led ICCI Academy, we have expanded and added several grades and classrooms to accommodate our growing community. This role even included teaching junior high math to the higher grade level students.

My job as a principal always goes beyond the capacity of a typical school principal. I perform many other activities such as student and parent counseling, youth director, activity organizer, and many other tasks fulfilling the expanding religious and educational needs of the community.

Assistant Professor, Chicago State University 2015-Present

Currently, I am teaching 4111 and 5111, Teaching Science Methods class for Elementary Schools. This class is for undergraduate and graduate students at the College of Education.

I am also teaching Arabic 1010 And Arabic 2010. I developed syllabi and teach these classes,

incorporating Arabic culture into language instruction. After the course, students should be prepared for 6-8 weeks of study abroad in Arab countries.
