Engineering Manager/Senior Design Engineer: Applications Engineering Department, TRACO, Cranberry Township, PA (2007-2010)

• Supervise Application Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Laboratory Technicians in primarily project related work.

• Supervise and Facilitate Product testing. This included AAMA certification, Impact, FBC, Miami Dade County certifications, NOA, Blast testing (Shock tube testing), Thermal testing, Sound testing.

• Supervise and facilitate Project testing. This includes prototypes, mock up windows, project mock ups that are laboratory or field tested.

• Perform technical review of major projects that have been booked. This includes review of their shop drawings, specifications, perform wind load analysis, and determine the structural adequacy of products and manufacturability.

• Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to make sure that the final work order paper work is accurate based on the changes and modifications made during the prototype or mock up.

• Assist customers with installation instructions, field testing and if necessary, troubleshoot and write remediation plans.

• In addition, perform all the functions of a Senior Design Engineer (as mentioned above).

Senior Design Engineer: Applications Engineering Department, TRACO, Cranberry Township, PA (2006-2007)

• Updated company catalog drawings. This included elevation drawings, section details for both the products and the accessories.

• Design accessories for windows and window systems. This included receptors, subsill, structural mullions, panning and muntins.

• Modify existing window products as required for individual projects. Design new dies if necessary.

• Draw new product configurations and fabrication preps for modified products.

• Maintain and continue to develop TRACO’s window wall including new accessories as required by the job.

• Provide support to inside and outside sales force with technical information, details, reviews, manufacturability of products, sign offs on products outside TRACO’s standards.

• Perform thermal simulations of window products and glass using Wintherm. This also includes new glass make ups using Optics, Windows 5.2

• On site visits when required for testing, troubleshooting or various issues that required engineering involvement.

• Perform energy calculations using E-Gen.

Applications Engineer: TRACO, Cranberry Township, PA (2005-2006)
