Having arrived in Canada three months ago, I am

eager to find a workplace where I can apply my

international perspective, my experience in Design, and my appetite for learning in a new culture. I offer three years experience as a Graphic Designer in

partnerships with clients both personal and pro-

fessional. My portfolio demonstrates my creative

nature and the breadth of my practice. Please

accept my sincere application for your advertised

position as Graphic Designer at your office in

Montréal. Having done a little research into your

company, I really admire the scope of your practice, and know it would be a great learning opportunity. My commissioned work allows

me to develop the skill of actively listening and

responding to clients’ feedback; I am driven to

make their vision a reality—no matter the number of revisions it takes. I am never discouraged by feed- back, it only motivates me as a solution-oriented

designer. My clients range from touring musicians

to filmmakers to event promoters, each of whom

were pleased with my ability to produce visually

striking, clear and brand-aware graphic experien-

ces, all within pre-established deadlines.

In my experience, good graphic

designers understand that they do not operate

alone—they are members of a team that is bigger

than the sum of its parts. I most recently honed my team work abilities at Zalando, Europe’s largest

e-commerce retailer, where I grew to be a reliable member. I was entrusted to train new colleagues

and act as a go-to for questions concerning

best when informed by a plurality of perspectives. Equipped with this, I can proudly focus on my in-

dependent assignments.

I am lucky to have been born

in Sweden, a country that prides itself on a rich

design heritage. I graduated with a BFA in Design

from Gothenburg’s Academy of Design and Crafts

and am currently undertaking further education in

User Design, which compliments my foundations

in Graphic Design. My focus on Typography, Type-

face Design and Magazine Design were crucial

in my mastering Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

and Glyphs. Additionally my freelance work has

introduced me to the AfterEffects environment.

Presently, I am putting the last touches on my online portfolio, which I have written using HTML, CSS and a pinch of JavaScript.

Since my exchange semester

at the Graphic Design programme at OCAD U,

Toronto, I have been waiting for an opportunity to establish myself in Canada. Letting me bring my

Scandinavian perspective to your team would be a
