Responsibilities
As a Shift Engineer - Cogen Mechanical:
Safely control the output and usage of one of the power plant 23.1 MW turbine generator units.
Taking periodic pressure, temperature and usage readings. Monitoring charts and gauges relating to boiler fire conditions, steam temperature and flow, feedwater temperature and flow, steam drum level, auxiliary equipment conditions and usage, station auxiliary power supplies, static precipitator voltage and amperage, and various other equipment pertinent to unit operation.
Directing attendants as to soot blower usage, equipment switching, and emergency procedures during equipment failures or trip outs
Preparing maintenance schedule and allocating manpower
Preparing maintenance chart for daily, weekly and monthly progress
Maintaining and frequently checking the rotating equipments during running hours
Planning and executions of preventive / Breakdown maintenance of Utility system
Monitored Fuel conditions
Operated soot blowers, bottom ash system, and dry ash hydrovactor system for ash removal
Performing safety measures in running equipments
Performed general housekeeping duties and plant cleanup.
