Numerical Simulation of Grain Burnback Analysis in Solid Rocket Motor

2018-2019 Hyderabad, India

The main purpose of this project is to write a matlab code to perform grain regression in solid rocket motor and to evaluate the performance.

The solid grain model is imported to matlab and

evolution of grain is tracked using a numerical method called Level Set Method.

The result of the code is area vs time curve which is again clubbed with internal ballistic simulation code to obtain thrust vs time graph of any grain

configurations.

Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) (intern) Design and Analysis of Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine Blade

The main aim of this project is to improve the efficiency of Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine(HAWT) blade.

Three HAWT blades are designed (NACA, Geocentric and Supercritical) and analysed to find the blade with improved efficiency after modification of certain geometrical and performance properties.

The result obtained is then compared with the analytical results and found satisfactory.
