I am a senior level designer who formerly worked in a brownfield environment providing professional services for engineering, procurement, and construction. I have extensive experience with process system layout and detailed design, utilizing sophisticated 3D plant design software such as Intergraph PDS and AVEVA E3D. Our typical workflow can be simplified to tasks such as: attending project coordination meetings, developing a scope of work, performing client design reviews at specified milestones in programs such as Navisworks, creating and documenting as-built conditions for collaborating with other teams, and the client, to review hard and soft clashes; fit, function, and constructability of the design, egress, etc. Upon the completion of detailed design, we utilized MicroStation/AutoCAD to create plan, section, and isometric drawings as part of our engineering deliverables. A critical part of the job was maintaining revision control during issuance of deliverable packages (engineering drawings) for manufacturing and construction, providing technical support to the field during the build phase of the project; along with updating drawings for record based on post fabrication/construction rework/variances. Being a military veteran, I am a self-starter, have a strong work ethic, great sense of humor, and work exceptionally well in team-based environment with minimal guidance. CORE SKILLS & COMPETANCY

ACHIEVEMENTS
Singlehandedly, and successfully, initiated an effort to develop and implement an in house laser scanning program, which utilized a Z+F laser scanner and LFM server to integrate registered point cloud datasets with 3D CAD systems.
Resulted in approximately $1,000,000 in cost savings that were passed on to the client.
Increased safety, through minimizing hours in the field, along with the ability to use the digital data to perform virtual walkdowns of the job.
This also allowed laser scanning to be used on smaller projects for which the costs had previously been unjustifiable.
Some other benefits that were realized from implementing an inhouse 3D laser scanning program are:
Increased utilization rate across large and small capital projects.
More effective communication of design intent during client design review meetings.
Reduction of total installed cost across all projects.
Higher percentage of jobs with no rework.
Reduction of engineering field work.
Enhanced brownfield data capture.
Significant reduction of manhours to complete detailed designs.
Higher percentage of jobs finishing under budget.
Developed Hardware Specification for a Custom Point Cloud Registration Server.
Developed hardware specification for RAID enabled network attached storage system for storage of registered point cloud datasets.
Monitored LFM and Dabacon database sizes and adjusted RAID volume sizes accordingly.
Researched, evaluated, and implemented a new data centric CAD software package to replace Intergraph PDS, with AVEVA E3D.
Streamlined the development and use of engineering data.
Reduced manual data entry during detailed design.
Developed custom programming, utilizing PML, to streamline development and maintenance of piping and structural specifications and other catalog items.
Developed custom programming, utilizing PML, to streamline repetitive tasks.
Developed custom programming, utilizing PML, to integrate procurement’s SAP based purchase orders with reconciled model progress reports.
Initiated effort to reduce or eliminate 2D deliverables such as P&IDs, piping isometrics, and equipment layouts in favor of digital fabrication technologies that made it possible to:
Reduce the potential for human error while compiling redlines of P&IDs from multiple sources.
Permitted enhanced revisioning control and streamlined document control process of issuing for record.
Observe the modeled environment at different phases of development allowing analysis of how scope creep affected the original job scope and project deadline.
Streamline package transmissions to field contractors, who utilize the detailed engineering model to execute construction of the finished project.
Enabled increasing levels of automated pipe fabrication to reduce fabrication errors and total installed cost, with additional potential to get higher throughput and faster turnaround. 3 Page
