Head of HR Relationship Management

HR Planning / Policy

Assist in the development and implementation of the annual staffing plan for the client group..

Control, influence, maintain and support the Bank’s structural changes reflecting an up-to-date approved existing and projected headcount.

Maintain current and deliver new/ amended HR policies and related procedures adhering with Qatar Labor Laws.

Ensure compliance with regulations, employment contracts and Bank’s and QCB’s policies and procedures

Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.

Compensation & Benefits / Payroll

Manage the implementation of the reward, promotions and and bonus strategies for the client group to meet the Bank’s objectives .

Facilitate the annual review of compensation in partnership with the client group and HR Department .

Address payroll questions, and ensure accurate payroll related communications

Training

Mentor and develop Qatari nationals

Conduct on boarding and individualised orientation for the client group.

Recruitment

Manage the full cycle of recruitment activities starting from reviewing the vacancies status and set priorities with lines of business, participate in determining the salaries and benefits (packages) within the pay scale and handling the negotiation process with the new candidates sourcing & screening and short listing potential candidates and finally interviewing candidates and selection process (interviewing, testing, reference verification) closing the process by offering or rejecting candidates.

Manage the Internal Recruitment Program within the Bank

Manage job postings and CV flow processes with approved recruitment agencies.

Employee Relations

Work encapsulated everything between handling straightforward HR issues, identifying, prioritizing and building the organizational capabilities through robust implementation of people processes and learning interventions, driving product awareness

Provide generalist services. My main responsibility is to partner with line management in aligning business and people strategies and influence development of a performance culture

HR Related responsibilities:

Manage Job Evaluation process through a third party and perform the role of the Secretary of the Job Evaluation Committee.

Actively involved in a number of HR Change Management projects and was instrumental in restructuring various HR initiatives on a pan Bank basis, with special focus on HR Operations, Training & Development, Performance Management, Attrition Management and Culture Building.

SEPTEMBER, 2001 TILL MAY 2007 THE COMMERCIAL BANK OF QATAR (Cb) - QATAR

Played various roles as follows :

HR Manager, Performance Management & Compliance (2006-2007)

Facilitate the performance management system across the organization ensuring the timely completion of the midyear and annual performance review process and the distribution of relevant MIS management.

Liaises with Head of HR Talent Management & Planning to ascertain the Bank's conformance to HR policies and procedures and labor laws and contracts of employment.

Coordinate the Bank's participation in and provide relevant data to industry salary and benefit surveys.

Provided generalist HR support and advice on the full range of HR activities including employee relations, salary administration, and staff retention and played a key role in the divisions growth and success.

Assist management through active participation in the Units’ total headcount analysis and manpower planning to ensure maximum optimization of manpower.

HR Relationship Manager (2005)

In addition to my duties performed during my role as HR Manager, PM & Complained, I contributed in the implementation of the bank-wide HR initiatives with Gallup Organization in the Staff Engagement Survey

Educate and guide business leaders in Cb’s HR policies processes and procedures as well as the Qatar Labor law

HR Officer 2004-2005

I was given this title as a transient title to move from the Performance Management area to the Personnel area. During this period of time, I started to work in the following :

SOPs & SLAs for Personnel staff

Introduced and applied the E-Gov Project

Cb Personnel Data project – this was a project to gather all missing data in the HR system and input the same in the system

Addressed SMS initiative for HR Services which simply notifies staff of their applications status with HR

Immigration/ Passposrt System to trak all exit permits and passports movements for sponsored staff

Mail Tracking System. This is a system to track all requests received by the Personnel and show the status of the same.

Performance Management Specialist – 2004

I was responsible for implementing the Performance Management system I worked independently to ensure that all performance management procedures are met. The main duties were :

Implementing all Performance Management products required to support the evaluation

Handle the Performance Evaluation process starting from the invitation to start the process, training on how to conduct evaluation meetings till the letter drafting and distribution of the Variable Pay and the related Groups/ Divisions’ performance reports

Provide customer support and answer all queries on the system

Manage the semiannual HR processes including performance reviews, variable pay and, bonus review at the year end

Attending Talent review meetings and preparing the performance matrix for all Cb staff (Plotting).

Assist the Head of HR in the preparation for promotion and salary increases.

Senior Administrative Assistant for the Head of HR (2001 – 2003)

In Charge of all the office management and administrative works of the HRM’s Office in addition to :

Checking and follow up the daily staff accounts transactions

Preparing and maintain updated records of the Organization Charts for the different Departments of the Bank.

Verifying the monthly lists of payroll with the headcounts existing in the organization charts.

Handling the Top Management clubs’ memberships (enrollments, renewing, and lapses).

Handling the Top Management accommodations (leasing contracts, payments and renewals).

Handling the Top Management health insurance (memberships, payments, follow-up, claims etc).

Prepare and maintain Top Management leave rosters.

Maintaining corporate diners club cards granted for the senior managers in the bank. (Verifying statements against invoices, follow up with accounts for reimbursing).

Prepare the monthly report for Qatar Central Bank for staff outstanding (above QR100,000).

Special Projects

Put together HR Policy for my current Bank alligned with the Qatar Labor Law on 2009

Project owner of the Salary Survey for the year 2005

Update the HR Policy for the Commercial Bank and allign it with the newly established Labor Law

Was assigned to check & authorise all issued Job Offers and Employment Contracts during my service in CB.

Handled the first Cb Staff and Messenger Uniform project on year 2004
