ABOUT ME:
I am Dariela Ruiz-Calderon. A Venezuelan geological engineer with passion to learn and teach. I have played many roles as a professional, from field, to lab, office and classroom. My experience has been developed in branches of the geology, it has teach me that no matter what you are facing, you need to be strong in organization, willing to learn, adaptability, and good energy.
As a engineer and professor I structure situations as problems to be solve, so I design the pathway that drive me to solutions and better understanding of the situation. From the operational point of view, each of these short-time projects allowed me to improve the schemes of task organization, understand and consider the flexibility of the plans to responsibly fulfill the requests with the best quality. Considering the technical aspect, being very varied projects, they allowed me to expand my knowledge in different specific areas of geological engineering, such as field, geophysics, hydrogeology, sedimentology, environmental geology. As transferable skills I feel I have developed as a leader, supervisor and technical staff, also attend to the processes of conflict management, be effective in teamwork but also individual work.
Summarizing some of the activities I as in charge of:
Conducted geological studies, lithology description, watershed delineation, water sampling, river and aquifer flow data acquisition and interpretation, generation of watershed models, geological support, analysis of water wells report, built up ground water models and influence ratio interpretation, application of Vertical Electrical Sounding.
