Project Description:
Turbocharger is an exhaust device used in automobiles. This device is used to boost engines power output by using waste exhaust gases. The goal of present thesis is to determines the study of off design Performance of radial turbine. At initial stage mean line analysis has used to determine the performance parameters. The radial turbine consists of turbine wheel and volute. The meshed data in ICEM-CFD is given by the organization. The software which is carried in this project is ANSYS CFX. The case set has done in CFX pre, solved in CFX solver and post processing is in CFX post. After the post processing data has collected and characteristics are generated for different speeds and pressure ratios for obtaining off design performance. Finally, theoretical values are compared with ANSYS CFX calculations.

Project Description : software’s used in our project are “NX UNIGRAPHICS” & “MATLAB”. The project describes outlines the complete detail of experimental setup, which includes the incorporation of penetration length measurement along with spray cone angle, mass flow rate and Sauter mean diameter. Geometry of combustion chamber and methods for calculation of penetrations are therefore essential to sound engine design. In gas turbine combustor, spray angle has strong influence on ignition performance, flame blowout limits and the pollutants emission of unburned hydrocarbons and smoke. We have designed the pressure swirl spill return atomizer in “NX UNIGRAPHICS” and analyze the design efficiency of pressure swirl spill return atomizer by using “MAT LAB- The language of Technical computing.
