I have got all-embracing experience of providing services in Clinical Pathology including Microbiology, Haematology, Biochemistry and Serology. My military service experience coupled with private-public healthcare industry makes me a suitable candidate to perform my job aptly. Pathology, Microbiology and Lab Medicine are my favourite subjects. I completed my training in Pathology from Armed Forces Institute of Pathology

(AFIP)/ Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute (AFPGMI) in 1986. I also got MCPS in Pathology in 1986. I completed training in M. Phil Pathology at AFIP allied with AFPGMI Rawalpindi/Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad in 1994. Since then I have been working as Pathologist cum Microbiologist and HoD in various clinical laboratories of public & private sectors. I have worked as HoD & Director PGME Pathology in French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) Kabul Afghanistan, managed by Aga Khan University (AKU) for >10 years. I have got extensive experience of teaching Pathology, Microbiology, Parasitology and Laboratory Medicine. I have been involved in making teaching plans and taught a range of students. Those included nursing staff and lab technologists of Army Medical Corps, students of Med Lab Technology (MLT), students of various medical colleges & Pathology residents. I am adept at working with diverse student populations, including national and international. In my opinion the best way of learning is teaching others. Scope of Work

Summary of activities performed as Pathologist/Microbiologist/Head of Clinical Laboratory: 1) Provision of services in Clinical Pathology including Microbiology, Haematology, Chemistry & Serology. 2) Day-to-day supervision of diagnostic methods and examination of specimens and accurately read and interpret the results of laboratory tests.

3) Perform procedures for quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement within the department, including taking part in all relevant external quality assurance programs.

4) Perform microbiological, haematological, serological and biochemical examinations on clinical and environmental specimens for the detection and identification of microbial agents of disease; identify microorganisms to the genus and species level; perform serological tests to aid in diagnosis of communicable and other diseases; interpret antibiotic sensitivity testing on various bacterial isolates. 5) Guide about collection & analysis of laboratory data; enter, retrieve and process computer generated lab reports. 6) Keep records, prepare and update written reports and procedure manuals. Summary of activities performed as a Faculty of Pathology/Microbiology/Lab Medicine: 1) Provide education/training to PGME residents of Clinical Pathology, plus all related educational activities, which may include conducting classes for residents and to educate & train the related clinical staff through lecturing and small group active education in laboratory facilities. 2) Ensuring training & mentoring activities/teaching courses for Medical Laboratory Technology students. 3) Supervise and impart training to laboratory technologists, technicians & phlebotomists. 4) Prepare/deliver lectures to the medical/dental students in the subject of Pathology & Microbiology. 5) Conduct and supervise practical training in the subject of Bacteriology. 6) Make purposeful & appropriate lesson plans that provide effective teaching strategies for students. 7) Encourage student enthusiasm for learning process & development of study habits. 8) Create a classroom environment conducive to learning. 9) Evaluate all the students within his/her teaching assignment.
