Production Team Leader

Supervise the daily activities and staff required to assemble and manufacture products in accordance with company policies and procedures and customer specifications.

Maintain accepted standards of ethics, business and personal conduct, and adherence to organizational policies in job-related activities.

Develop associates by training, cross-training, and providing continuing education opportunities.

Communicate with associates to discuss safety, quality machine operations, production requirements, improvement opportunities, preventive maintenance, and 5S/Housekeeping duties.

Process, control, monitor, and distribute information from daily production, engineering and quality control reports. Work with Production Manager to establish production plans and goals, making adjustments as necessary. Work with Production Manager to plan and schedule regular and overtime hours necessary to meet production goals.

Create and maintain production related information (such as scheduling, work orders, etc.) using production planning systems.

Conduct formal performance appraisals for hourly associates to assess associate performance and help associates improve their performance. Administer corrective disciplinary action; resolve associate complaints

Responsible for directing hourly leads and employees in assigned areas to meet production, quality, safety and budget goals.

Direct activities, job assignments, and rotation.

Discipline according to company guidelines and rules.

Control production processes and procedures

Insure that all employees are effectively trained in task duties/responsibilities, quality standards and procedures, food and general safety.

Utilize trainers to train new employees and newly assigned employees for labor grades 4 and below.

Evaluate performance and coach people to improve/maintain.

Communicate with Area Production Mgr. to insure an effective exchange of ideas, opportunities, concerns and problems so action can be taken in a timely manner.

Insure that all company policies, rules and regulations are consistently enforced and communicated to all employees.

Complete assigned paperwork and administrative tasks in a timely and reasonable manner as required. This will include (but is not limited to) HACCP, SSOP’s, trucking forms and receipts, customer documents and administrative paperwork.

Complete all assigned tasks (see task sheet for clarification) as required in writing or by verbal direction.

Perform other duties as assigned.
