Sam Swope Fiat/Alfa Romeo and Sam Swope Auto Group, LLC and General Acceptance, LLC, Louisville, KY.

Performed all accounting functions for dealership and titling of

All vehicles sold. Prepared financial reporting for corporate office. In December of 2015, Sam Swope Auto Group sold.

Remained with Swope Auto Group to assist with Accounting and Warranty related issues necessary to close of business for Sam Swope Auto Group. In addition, performed accounting and reporting duties for General Acceptance, LLC (Swope Finance

Controller/Human Resources Manager 2014 to 2015

Auto Acceptance, LLC and CSC, LLC, Louisville, KY. Buy Here Pay Here lot with related Finance Company averaging $2 million in revenue, annually. Responsible for all accounting processes and financial decision making, including but not limited to:

Preparation of financial statements, cash flow analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsible for personnel decisions, payroll, development of policy and procedures. Create standard operational procedures, train and enforce application.

Review and audit loans, monitor repossession decisions and payoff procedures.

During the time I have worked with employees of Auto Acceptance, my main goal has been to introduce structure and disciplines needed to perform at the top level of our industry.

Controller 1989 - 2013

Manheim Auctions, Division of Cox Enterprises, Inc., an Atlanta, GA, based Global company with divisions in Automotive Remarketing, Radio Broadcasting, Newspapers and Cable Television.

Louisville, KY, Fort Wayne, IN, Indianapolis, IN and Clarksville, IN. Each of the four locations while I was Controller earned between $18 to $25 million in revenue per year.

Previously ADT Automotive, Division of ADT, Inc. based in Nashville TN.

Managed financial, accounting, and general office functions of largely profitable auto auction. Responsibilities extended to financial statements, profit flow/cash flow analysis, balance sheet completion monthly, and management of auction finance services. Hire and supervise accounting staff, office staff and credit/collections team. As management team member, participated in strategic planning, including revenue and expense forecasting, cash management, capital expenditure planning, and weekly financial condition reporting.

In addition to accounting/financial responsibilities, performed many IT related functions,

such as weekly/monthly backup of systems, AS 400 maintenance, and set up of new stations, and training of new employees on applicable software.

Selected Contributions:

Worked with General Manager at Louisville location to reduce primary expense categories saving the company approximately $1 million annually through implementation of personnel management, purchasing, and promotional controls.

Transferred to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 2009 after close of Louisville location to take over as Controller and to assist in major Sales Tax issue with the state. Trained personnel in proper sales tax collection procedures. Worked with accounting staff to reorganize duties and cross train personnel. Along with fellow senior management helped to implement same expense controls used in Louisville location and, again, cut annual expenses by nearly $1 million dollars.

Dealer Registration, Credit/Collections, Sale Line-up Coordinator and Manager

ADT Automotive D/B/A Mid America Auto Auction, Louisville, KY

Joined staff of Mid America Auto Auction upon startup of company in October of 1989. Began as representative in charge of helping car dealers with registration applications to purchase and sell vehicles through the auction. When auction officially opened in January 1990, began to line up vehicles for various sales. Later became a sales manager for Dealer Consignment Department.

Additional responsibilities prior to 1997 promotion to Controller included payroll, accounts receivable, credit and collections, and General Motors Sales Coordinator. In March 2013, I chose to take an early retirement package offered to many by Manheim Auctions.
