Job Summary:

1.Have knowledge of complete production process of HOT STRIP MILL for 10 years

2.Presently looking after the Stainless Steel Hot rolling Operations and Handling the shift individually as a assistant Shift In charge (associate manager).

3.Aware of defects taking place during rolling & their resultant effect on the quality of strip rolled.

Present Occupation:

Currently working as an associate manager in 2 MTPA, L-2 Automation system of 1650 mm wide Hot Strip Mill at M/s. JINDAL STAINLESS STEEL LTD. Which is equipped with 1RHF,4-Hi Roughing Mill, Mandrel less Coil Box, 4-Hi Finishing Mill (6Stands),Micro processor based Laminar Cooling and 1 Down Coilers supplied by SIMENS VIA, Germany and Automated by SIEMENS. From October 2012. To till date.

Job Description:_

6.Responsible for the entire main control room monitoring as Shift In charge.

7.Coordinating with Co-Workers for the better timely production without delays.

Planning & Implementing, Productivity Improvement Techniques day to day.

8.Responsible for receiving, analyzing daily logs and statistical reports on finishing line operations. Deviations from plans are noted and corrective actions are developed and implemented.

Leads and directs activities of department personnel

1. Clarify and coordinate tasks while providing individual coaching and support needed to keep team members satisfied and committed to achievement of defined goals. Experience with numerous PC software applications including MS Word and MS Excel.

2.Well aware of all the automation systems of Level 2 Set Points for rolling.

Leads and directs activities of department personnel

Clarify and coordinate tasks while providing individual coaching and support needed to keep team members satisfied and committed to achievement of defined goals.

Conduct all supervisory responsibilities concerning hiring, training, counseling, coaching, developing, and assigning work for all assigned employees either directly or through others.

Develop and maintain open communication within our department as well with other departments. Manage safety and health programs in the department to assure a safe and healthy working environment in compliance with the federal, state and local regulations.

Prepare shift work schedules for optimum utilization of personnel.

Coordinate and work closely with maintenance and engineering to insure prompt and proper diagnosis of equipment failures and minimize operations downtime.

Work with personnel from support departments, coordinate repairs and periodic maintenance of production equipment, tooling, material handling, and other ancillary equipment as required.

Provides the leadership, training and support necessary for the implementation of development projects in assigned departments.

Responsible for continuous improvement programs to address optimization of equipment and personnel resources, such as kaizen’s, standard work and problem solving. Heavy emphasis will be placed on data collection, lean manufacturing principles, capability studies, root cause analysis and benchmarking.

Work closely with Quality Assurance to meet or exceed all quality standards while compiling with ISO requirements and promote continued certification. knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems or equivalent

React to quality issues swiftly and ensure controls are put into place to prevent reoccurrence.

Develop and implement procedures for equipment maintenance.

Foster innovation and initiates enhancements to the process to benefit and increase productivity and quality of product.

Promote and support the continuance of a non-union environment

-Housekeeping maintenance. Controls waste of materials as well as other direct and indirect costs.

Follow all safety procedures including: wearing proper PPE, LOTO, confined space entry and fall protection

Report all injuries or incidents

Show up for every scheduled shift on time

Have a positive attitude and a teamwork mentality

- Working in finishing mill (semi continuous mill.) including achieving rolling parameter of hot strips, continuous supervision of mill equipment, work roll and backup roll change in minimum time delay.

- Supervision of roughing mill, finishing mill, down coiler.

2-As RHF Pulpit Engineer; Walking Beam Type Reheat Furnaces (Two, 200tonn/hr, Natural Gas

Based, second furnace recommissioned into natural gas based from furnace oil now operates COG based).

_ Done Project on Sticky Scale Formation, Route Cause Analysis.

Involved in coil related accessories like strapping machine and marking machine (robotic arm have six-

degree of freedom).during commissioning period.

Successfully apply basic engineering during plate rolling, for flattening of different shape, size and grade

based plate (up to 4725mm wider width) through Hot Leveller(capacity 4000 ton).

Involved in material management, housekeeping, and handling of man power.

Additional information:

- Maintain the ‘SOP’ of Slab, coil and plate related works and others records.

- Work on SAP E.C.6.0 for documentation

10.Successfully rolled High carbon steel (1.0% C) for the first time in at M/s. JSL Ltd.

11.Succeeded in reducing the work roll changing time by changing the logics along with SIEMENS engineers.

12.Taken the lead role in the running and training the Subordinates and trainees in different operating models like Level 2.

13.Involved in the rolling all Stainless Steel Grades and knowing the defects of all Grades.

14.Participated in Safety Slogans, Posters, Suggestion schemes, Competitions, Health First Aid and many suggestions accepted & cost saving.

15.Enhancement in Equipment Capacity & Reduce breakdown time & Improve Productivity.
