Position Overview: The Assistant Executive Housekeeper assists in the managing and directing of the day–to–day operations of all Housekeeping and laundry functions. Provides support to the Executive Housekeeper in all areas of Housekeeping operation, such as staff training, coaching and counseling. and consistently. Participates in and enforces quality assurance for Housekeeping Department and department cost control measures.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists Executive Housekeeper in day-to-day operationof all Housekeeping operation
Assumes responsibilities of Executive Housekeeper in his/her absence
Supervise housekeeping employees allotted to their area of activity
Check all areas and see that they meet standard of cleanliness stipulated
Maintain a regular and complete advanced program for renovating publics areas
Inspect staff turns out
Under take daily roistering of staff when required
Check the par stock of linen and guest supplies and cleaning supplies on ward
Prepare housekeeping occupancy list for front office
Liaise with housekeeping desk for list of rooms that need to be cleared for sale
Record lost and found items as per laid down norms
Follow up Trouble Reports, out of order rooms, Investigates complaints, and takes corrective measures
Try to develop Housekeeping Systems procedures
Through close supervision recommend improvement in operation especially in the following aspects of developing better service standard, increase in revenue and reduction of cost.
Other Routine Responsibilities:
Select, staff, recruit, hire, and train qualified housekeeping candidates.
Attends training seminars to perfect housekeeping techniques and procedures, and enhance supervisory skills
Records data concerning work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports. May prepare reports concerning ward occupancy, payroll expenses, and department expenses
Attends periodic staff meetings with other department heads to discuss company policies and patrons’ complaints, and to make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
Orient and familiarize new personnel with hospital facilities and operating hours.
Control all expenditures relating to Housekeeping, including labor, ward supplies, and all cleaning supplies and equipment.
Oversee any guest communications from housekeeping.
