Sydney International Airport (October 2018 – present)

Position – Senior Business Analyst / Consultant (Contract)

Sydney International Airport (SYDAIR) were upgrading their security platform and associated applications. Honeywell was being replaced with Chubb in the rollout of new security platform and applications including Onguard Alarm Monitoring (by Lenel) and IPSecurity Centre Command and Control (by CNL).

The project was an infrastructure project and my role was to prepare high level requirements, workflows and traceability matrices.

My responsibilities at SYDAIR were as follows:

Collaborate and work closely with SYDAIR users to validate and collate requirements

Preparation of Workflow diagrams using VISIO

NEC were building the new data centres for Transport NSW and I was assisting in the implementation and testing of the new tools to support the data centres. The project was an infrastructure project and my role was to prepare Run Books and Operational Service Manuals.

My responsibilities at NEC were as follows:

University of Technology (February 2016 –August 2016)

Position – Senior Business Analyst / Consultant

I developed the Task Brief and High Level Requirements Specification for the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) System. The High Level Requirements will be used as input to the Request for Tender Documentation to select an appropriate PPM tool for usage by the Project Management Office and other areas within UTS

I worked on the implementation of a national database for the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO). The database is integral to the Aboriginal Housing Office and funding accountabilities of the Aboriginal Community Housing Providers. I worked closely with all business areas of the AHO to document the data reporting requirements to be generated from the national data base. Applications I was involved with included Salesforce which was used by the Community Housing Providers.

Qantas (July 2014 – April 2015)

I am involved in transformation projects that entail the introduction of new processes and tools (Co-Browse, Scheduled Call Back, and Courtesy Call Back) within Qantas Contact Centre .My responsibilities included working closely with Qantas business units to ensure that I.T systems and processes were aligned with the new organisational strategy. The project I was involved with was a Compliance project to replace the existing system that was in use by the Election Funding Authority (EFA). The new system was intended to replace existing systems currently in use at EFA and to cater for major reforms to the Election Funding, Expenditure and Disclosure Act (EFE & D Act) which took effect from 1 January 2011. RailCorp (August 2009 – March 2011)

Position – Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager

I prepared program and project business cases (complying with Prince 2 Methodology and QMS standards), including financial analyses of costs and benefits. The Program Business case requested funding for capital expenditure of $137 million and operating expenditure of $25 million over seven years to proceed with the Passenger Information Improvement Program including the implementation of a Data warehouse for ongoing storage and distribution of timetable information and rollout of new Infrastructure for stations.

I worked closely with RailCorp staff, contactors and external suppliers (Ernst and Young, The Australian Centre for Value Management) to prepare costing models, calculate the capex and opex for the Program and Project Business Cases. I worked closely with business managers to gather the requirements and discuss results / recommendations. In addition, I identified business benefits, updated the business case and the budgets.

ING Insurance Direct (May 2008 – July 2009)

Position: Senior Business Analyst

Provided ongoing support to business operational projects. The projects that I was involved with included business requirements and data analysis via MS-Access Database for the Dealer System (developed in .NET) and B2B-B2C Web Implementation of Virgin Money Personal Loans (developed in .NET). My role was to assist with requirements gathering via workshops and interviews, business case preparation, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing and SQL data mining (MS-Access) to verify requirements and test results.

QBE Insurance (August 2005 – November 2007)

Position: Senior Business Analyst / Business Consultant

The major project that I was involved with at QBE was Contract Works Business Process Re-Engineering. Contract Works is general insurance for the Construction Industry and is a high revenue - high risk portfolio originally residing only on the Mainframe.

Contact Works was re-developed on Sunrise and c.change (E-Business) into a Web Enabled application over a 12 month time-frame. Web Application was developed in Java and interfaced via XML to a new Oracle back–end database.

The Web is used by Brokers to submit underwriting transactions (new business, referrals, renewals, cancellations and endorsements) to the mainframe (Evolve application). Evolve is used internally by underwriters and claims processing staff.

User group for Contract works consisted of Actuaries, Underwriters, Brokers and Claims Assessment staff.

The project was implemented in three phases

Release 1 – Base Functionality on the Web and the Mainframe

Data Migration – to the new Oracle Database and SQL queries on the Oracle database

Release 2 – Auto Rating and other Actuarial Functions

I coordinated User Acceptance Testing, attended Steering Committee Meetings, conducted Systems Testing and worked closely with developers to provide assistance during development.

I also worked on small projects such as Stellent Repository, Branding (for Marketing) and Infrastructure projects such as Network Monitoring Tools. I was a member of the quality assurance team responsible for Capability Maturity Model accreditation. I assisted in the development and roll-out of new project roadmaps and new templates to be used by the project teams. Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) (September 2004 – July 2005)

Worked on a Java Web-based application in the role of Senior Business Analyst / Tester where I developed Use Case Requirements for the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS)

My role at MLA was to develop Change Management Processes and Business Use Cases to support the NLIS users. I supported both the internal and external stakeholders of the NLIS system.

NLIS had an RDMS back-end and a Web Based Front-end developed in JAVA.
