Cobalt Intelligence was an ambitious project to start an investment fund, accelerator and commercialization network with a mission of identifying groundbreaking technologies developed at research institutions and commercializing through tech transfer or as spin-off start-up subsidiaries. The initial year, we were solely focused with our first partner - the Institute for Human Machine Cognition, IHMC. IHMC is a world leader in Robotics, AI, and Human Performance.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and manage due diligence process and pipeline for investment fund.
• Work closely with world-class robotics and AI researchers to guide development and commercial transition of technologies.
• Establish and manage relationships with tech transfer and investment firms for technology pipeline flow.
• Structure and build teams for individual spin-off startup entities.
• Define and execute strategic plans for technologies and start-ups in portfolio.
• Interim CEO for spin-offs as needed.
• Manage & align objectives of individual subsidiaries with overall company goals.

InLoop is a VC backed Software Start-up with teams in US and Israel. InLoop’s software aggregates and disseminates content for industry trade groups and personalizes the output for each user. InLoop’s software delivers rich analytics for each industry by using NLP. I was contracted by the chairman to turn the company around, reduce burn, and reach $1M in sales. Accomplishments:
• Complete overhaul of company & product
• Implemented new brand, marketing, sales, and product strategies
• Lead company from $0 in sales to $1M in first 18 months
• Coordinated $2.1m capital raise from 8 investors globally
• Refocused & restructured company resources to reduce burn from $300k/month to $125k/month
