Career Profile
Team administrator for over 11 years working for one of the largest international accounting firms that provide tax services for a large petroleum company with over 4000 employees traveling into and out of the US. As the team administrator I would coordinate briefings with the client employees, provide technical assistance with our tax software, consolidate information into reports and statistics requested by the client, and assist with completing large projects within the group or for the client directly. Core Competencies include data consolidation using Excel, project management, main system updates in both database and internal/external document storage, general technology troubleshooting and IT escalation, conducting interviews with client employee to certify documents (on behalf of tax firm) needed to apply for Individual Tax Identification Number, and basic administrative tasks like mailing tax notices and scanning documents.
Accomplishments
Reduced the time needed to get tax extensions processed and mailed by about 1-2 weeks by leveraging assistance from our foreign offices who have a larger task force for a lower cost in hours, Successfully established and organized a new database the firm implemented as the main document storage and sharing system. Also trained the client and staff on its usage and capabilities. Communicating with client staff and establishing a personal relationship helped alleviate some of the stress caused when short deadlines and unspecified parameters are given on projects from superiors. They feel comfortable seeking guidance and requesting clarification; this is beneficial for both parties as less time is consumed when there is open dialogue without the feeling of frustration. Met client employees to familiarize them with what was required to apply and receive an individual tax identification number (ITIN), the benefits of having an ITIN, and the limitations. We would prepare the application needed to file, collect supporting legal documents, certify copies on behalf of the tax firm, and submit all the documents and application to the firm’s legal department for approval. Familiarizing the staff with the process and requirements was also necessary. As the only certified agent at some point in time, I had to train new members from our office and from states on how to conduct these interviews. Work History
Telemarketer - Royal Crown Mortgage
Hayward, CA - 2005-2006
Making calls to promote the most current loan options for homebuyers and to offer our services to potential clients looking to refinance their home. Later I managed a small 4-person team of telemarketers where I was responsible for answering questions the client had that they couldn’t answer or to schedule meetings. Receptionist - Zomek Mortgage & Realty
Hayward, CA - 2006-2007
Answering phones, meeting with clients to collect documents needed to apply for loans, telemarketing, looking for new homes upon client request, and showing clients new homes. Team Administrator – Randstad
Mountain View, CA - 2007-2011
Worked as a contractor to KPMG where I would assist the team in printing and mailing tax returns, system data load, scanning documents to database, and mailing payment vouchers to a third-party contract. Also, I was first contact when system troubleshooting was needed, if I couldn’t fix the issue, I would need to open a service ticket with IT and follow up on suggested actions. Tax Processor/Technician - KPMG
Santa Clara, CA - 2011-2017
On top of previously listed tasks, now I would also be responsible for assisting in large projects. My main task was to pull data from the system and provide that information to different teams working on different projects. Based on the feedback received from the teams, I would make changes to the system to correct or update the information so it can be used for billing and to measure the scope of hours needed to complete larger projects.
Senior Tax Processor - KPMG
Santa Clara, CA - 2017-2019
My tasks furthered from the above mentioned, but many were allocated to our foreign offices. This saved the firm time but also made time available for other types of services to be offered with the available resources and potential billable hours. Instead of assisting in large projects, I would be the main managing contact with a supervisor to approve overall processes. I was also the main technical support contact for our client and foreign offices for our database, internal storage software, external storage software, billing program, and overall client information access.
