Summary/Experience
I am a passionate researcher of innovative practices and strategies to promote effective teaching and learning. My educational platform builds on the strong belief that literacy must be at the forefront of every classroom. My experience in the Jackson Public School District began as serving elementary students as a classroom teacher. This motivated and emphasized the need that everything we do as educators should be about the students. As a result, I served in various capacities across the district. I was the lead teacher for nineteen schools in the content area of Science and ELA, Curriculum Specialist, K-12 Subject Area Supervisor (ELA and Science Integration), and a Lead Interventionist. I also serve as a National Board Facilitator, Recruiter, and a National Board Site Coordinator for Transforming Literacy at Jackson State University Lifelong Learning Center. I am currently finalizing tutorials for various schools around the state as an ELA consultant.
