Supervise a group of worker’s to keep all office spaces and facilities in a clean and neat manner. Prepare purchase orders for equipment and materials that we may need to keep the daily operations running smoothly, also set up classrooms for board meetings and remove broken furniture when needed. Have quarterly talks with my employees about their performance plans and future classes that they are interested in. In current and prior positions I’ve been responsible for supporting the administration of the personal property management program and conducting inventory oversight and execution, assisting with purchasing and requisition methods to obtain services and supplies for S.I. Prepare and arrange day to day operations for staff to ensure that the National Zoo facilities and animal houses are cleaned on a daily basis. I’m a part of the Animal Move Team which consist of assisting the Animal Programs with the safe moving of animals for transport to and from the airport. Responsible for warehouse receiving, storage, shipping, deliveries, and disposal of excess property for Smithsonian National Zoological Park. Prepares reports concerning the, utilization of inventory and excess disposal property and related warehouse operations. Assisted with warehouse operations, historical data, inventories, and prepares reports regarding warehouse issues such as lost, damage, physical inventories, inaccurate inventories, and discrepancies. Managed warehouse storage space to ensure conformance with internal space requirements for critical and bulk supplies. Provides administrative support and guidance for ordering supplies using Purchase Orders and UFR’s. Operates Materials Handling Equipment using hand truck, forklifts (gas or electric), electric dolly, and other MHE equipment. Assembles materials; lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power equipment. Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak usage of supplies. Utilize tracking system designed to FEDEX, UPS, DHL and vendors supplies. Maintains Government Purchase Card for purchasing Critical Supplies for the warehouse. Provided critical supply items for the Animal Program Departments of the National Zoo, and OFMR support staff. Current position is considered “Emergency Essential” position.

Smithsonian National Museum of American Indian

Facilities Service Worker (January 2007- November 2010)

Duties: My duties as a Facility Service Worker is to maintain the upkeep of the museum grounds using various equipment, chemicals and janitorial supplies such as, scrubbers, sweepers, leaf vacuums, leaf blowers, snow blowers, snow shovels, and deck brushes. Chemicals are used for outside surfaces with tough stains that need to be scrubbed and a broom and dust pan for policing the debris around the surrounding areas. I am also often a relief to the shipping and receiving personal for breaks and lunch. On several occasion I am called upon to provide transportation for staff, dropping off timecards, picking up and/or dropping off supplies. I am an operator of the forklift when large freight is presented on the loading dock for unloading and loading freight, and maintain the upkeep of the machines and make sure that the loading dock stays nice and neat. I also work snow detail in the winter months, making sure that all sidewalks, entrances, emergency exits and ramps are clear. I also assisted the Maintenance Mechanics with several duties such as painting, hanging doors, changing out locks and removing carpet from office spaces. I have been called upon on several occasions to provide assistance in the OFMR office for clerical and administration support. From August 3rd 2009 through June 10th 2010 I will be participating in the RAP Program working with the USRO Engineers, performing various training and hands on work, such as checking Boilers, Air Handler Units, changing Filters, Chilled Water Pumps, Heat Returns, and Domestic Water Pumps. I learned how to read different gages such as, PSI’s, Ohm’s, MHz’s and Mohr’s, also read Blueprints. During this time I will also be taught how to do walk through of the galleries to check proper temperature settings.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

Building Service Worker (May 2006- January 2007)

Duties: To ensure the upkeep of the museums facilities and galleries such as, moping waxing and stripping floors, vacuuming, sweeping, shampooing, washing windows, cleaning bathrooms, and policing galleries. Very often use as a floater to assist supervisors and laborers with various day to day tasks, dealing with snow detail pulling trash inside and out. I also have been place in charge of keeping count of the service workers monthly supplies and working on the loading dock, delivering and receiving packages, placing quotes and ordering supplies. As a building service worker I also have been instructed to use SI automobiles to deliver packages to other buildings along the mall for my leaders and supervisors.

Package Handler / Dock Worker (12/05-05/06)

Duties: As a package handler my duties where to scan all outgoing freight and load them on the proper route vehicle, often as a dock worker I would run the freight line scanning for damage packages for liability purposes. I would also use the forklift for heavy and awkward packages. Often used at the front counter for customers who came in after hours for their packages that were not delivered.
