Accomplishments

As NDI Section NCOIC and Quality Assurance Inspector, significantly contributed to the completion of major aircraft projects such as:

a.24th Year Structural Maintenance Program of C-130B aircraft # 3633.

b.Inspection and assembly of 15 Cessna 172B aircrafts which is completed in 49 days way ahead of the target date of 59 days.

c.Recovery and re-commissioning of F-27 Fokker aircraft # 259.

d.Conversion of UH-1H helicopter # 890 to a much powerful UH-1H II or Huey II. Said conversion was the first ever done in Asia.

Received Military Merit Medal Awards, Commendations and others for exemplary service, devotion to duty and invaluable contributions as an Aircraft Specialist/Technician of the Philippine Air Force.

The only Asian who qualified for training in NDT Technician Level II Course (Class 1/07) in NDTSL, RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland, Australia. Completed the course garnering a weighted average of 92.65%, way above the passing average of 70% for English as Second Language (ESL) participants and 80% for English (native) speaking participants.

Conducted lectures and other similar presentations on the possible hazards and ill-effects of ionizing radiation primarily for personal protection, continuing awareness and overall safety.

Conducted lectures and other similar presentations on spectrometric oil analysis enhancing the flying units’ awareness, safety and cost effectiveness.

Promptly acted on the sub-standard NDI consumables upon designation as Section NCOIC, resulting in its pullout by the supplier and replaced by brands having the right specifications.

Visually inspects engine parts for surface defects or damage prior to cleaning.

Mechanical cleaning of parts either by blasting (aluminium oxide, plastic bead), scrubbing, buffing and/or scraping.

Applies corrosion inhibitor on parts for preservation prior to packing.

Performs NDT (PT, MT, ET) on parts in accordance with manufacturer’s manual.

Determines test method, prepares parts and performs NDT on structures, components and systems.

Reads, interprets manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, service bulletins and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
