Dear Sir/Madam:
As an adult student, I am excited to announce that I am a most recent graduate completing my bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and seeking employment as an Environmental Scientist. Combined with my degree and employment experience, I am confident I would be able to meet the requirements of an entry level position.
My studies included several ecological research projects involving plant and animal communities, threatened habitats, invasive species, hydrology, forestry, and soil. For example, my Environmental Capstone centered on constructed wetlands to treat wastewater contaminated with ammonia nitrogen wastes. Utilizing plants in my constructed wetland design, I was able to reduce these contaminates to regulatory limits suitable for wastewater to be discharged to the public waterways.
In addition, my current employment supports an Environment, Health and Safety division for Naval Nuclear Laboratories. As an administrative support specialist, I am responsible for multiple tasks that support the division writing and preparing reports, collecting and analyzing data, and/or performing work to support federal, state, and local agency requirements and the United States Navy. I have been involved in a number of projects over a six year period with them which include assistance in the preparation of the Environmental Summary Reports, Cultural Resource Management Plans, Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements, and local permits, e.g. Discharge Monitoring Reports, Petroleum Bulk Storage, and Storm Water Management. I believe I am ready to advance my career to the next level.
I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to find out more about your position, your company, as well as discuss my qualifications. I may be reached at 518-***-**** to schedule an interview.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Stephanie M. Morgan
