I am responsible for the planning, development, supervision and coordination of all activities of the Medical Imaging service in its compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and for the selection and appointment of all Medical Imaging department staff. Responsible for ensuring that Work Health & Safety guidelines are known and adhered to by staff and patients/clients to the ward, and for taking those steps necessary to ensure personal safety for self and others in the performance of any duties.

Follow the infection control guidelines.

Coordinates Radiology department activities with those of other departments.

Participates in all appropriate and necessary meetings and committees.

My responsibility are recommending or approving corrective actions, identifying radiation safety problems, initiating action, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Annual review of the radiation safety program for adherence to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) concepts.

Managing FANR applications, and apply for a new License, also Amendment, Surrender License and Renewal the License. Maintaining records of X-ray radiation generators. Supervising workplace monitoring arrangements.

Ensuring the radiographers are receiving radiation Safety training; Establishing, issuing and reviewing local rules, that is, the procedures for carrying out radiography work.
