Pharmacy Manager

Duties included filling inpatient/outpatient prescriptions, unit dose medications, and daily medicine cassettes and compounds. Prepared various IV (intravenous) products using aseptic technique. IV preparations included bags, drips, hyperals, chemotherapeutical and antibiotic syringes. I handled Physician/Nurse calls, inquiries regarding drug/drug interactions and dispensing/administering instructions to assure quality patient care and safety.

Qualifications

In addition to my Pharmaceutical skills, I am certified by the University of Pittsburgh to teach smoking cessation courses and I am licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and Alabama as a registered Pharmacist. I have also been educated by GNC on herbal supplements and on homeopathic remedies. I have extensive knowledge of compounding medications as well as intravenous and chemotherapeutic medications via aseptic technique. Patient education has been a top priority which I have taken many courses and continuing education credits on this subject. Through the direction of my management, the pharmacies in which I have worked have specialized in special orders of OTC products and medical devices to accommodate patients. Furthermore, I have consistently organized many community functions to educate the public and increase the pharmacy’s profits. For example, I have conducted blood drives, cholesterol and diabetes screenings, as well as spoken to the public on numerous medical subjects.
