SLIM – Client Custom Integrations
JP Morgan Chase - Involved in design with client to provide solution in facilitating data exports/imports from Accruent solution, SLIM and client legacy systems, in this case SAP. The challenge was the amount of transactions going into SAP which numbered between 200,000 and 400,000 rows of data. Originally, client desired the ability to control the program flow through a thin client interface connected to underlying SQL 2005 database. Upon further review, client agreed to more efficient solution which consisted of database stored procedures scheduled to run overnight and allow client the ability to review output residing in staging tables before final delivery to SAP. Originally designed process took about 3 to 4 hours to complete. Scheduled kickoff of database stored procedures completed in 15 minutes. After client reviewed increased efficiency, remaining 9 custom applications were designed in the same manner. Statistical information was generated during processes and written to custom tables available to client. Overall, project ran for 14 months with client requested changes to custom applications and core product solution, SLIM being accommodated throughout project.
Giant Eagle – Developed Oracle 10g stored procedures to import large data set flat files. using Visual Basic 6.0 to replace original process that ran for 20 hours. Once solution was designed and developed, process was implemented with oracle install scripts and overall process was cut from 20 hours to 25 minutes. The success with clients’ sales import solution led to two other applications being designed, developed and implemented which included an accounts payable export and an accounts receivable export. Both applications were a combination of Visual Basic 6.0 thin client interface and Oracle 10g underlying stored procedures.
Chipotle – Worked with clients Real Estate department to design 9 custom applications utilizing a mixture of VB.Net and SQL Server 2005 database stored procedures. These included accounts payable import and export, a property portfolio import; a percentage rent export and sales data import. Project lasted approximately 11 months. At a later date, client requested a straight line depreciation application which needed to run nightly and based on user interaction within Accruent solution SLIM, custom application would calculate new schedules for any leases within SLIM that were modified during prior day. The solution consisted of SQL Server 2005 stored procedures and update triggers on key tables to flag which leases within client portfolio needed to be recalculated.
Duane Reade – After successfully implementing 3 custom solutions designed to interface clients legacy financial systems which included both an accounts payable export and import and an accounts receivable export utilizing a mixture of Visual Basic 6.0 and SQL Server 2005, client asked for a straight line depreciation application developed for another client. Solution was fine-tuned for client’s requirements.
The Home Depot – Worked with project team as main developer for custom applications to facilitate imports and exports to Accruent main product SLIM and clients legacy financial system SAP. Overall, 11 custom applications were designed, developed and implemented on site with client over a project life cycle of 15 months. Custom solutions include accounts payable imports and exports, vendor imports, expense reconciliation and CAM exports for financial reporting. Client also purchased straight line solution developed for previous clients. Technologies included SQL 2005 and VB.Net.
Sonic – Designed, developed and implemented several custom programs to import and export financial data with Accruent core solution SLIM and client legacy financial systems. Solutions included accounts payable import and export, general ledger accounting export to produce ledger entry file from SLIM financial information for import to client’s legacy accounting system. Solutions were a mixture of SQL 2005 stored procedures and user interfaces developed with Visual Basic 6.0. 9519 S. Millard ave. + Evergreen Park, IL 60805 + 708-***-**** + *******@*******.*** Page 4

Starbucks – Created financial imports and exports from existing client financial systems and Accruent core product SLIM. These included sales data import; percentage rent export and sales audit reports via views created within SQL 2005 database with Visual Basic 6.0 front end. Helped client upgrade from earlier version of SLIM with Oracle to latest release with SQL Server 2005 which included converting their Oracle database to SQL Server via SSIS packages.
Target – Worked on small team to design, develop and implement 16 custom applications designed to move financial data between Accruent solution SLIM and client’s legacy financial systems. Project lasted approximately 18 months. Solution consisted of SQL 2005 stored procedures and VB.Net for user interfaces.
SLIM – Data Conversions
With every new client, a conversion of their existing real estate portfolio usually needed to occur. This was accomplished using a variety of tools including Microsoft Access, Visual Basic 6.0, SQL Server and Oracle scripts. This process would entail several initial mapping sessions with client followed by development of tools to perform conversion. Client source data was delivered in several formats including Microsoft FoxPro, Microsoft Excel, flat files and SQL Server or Oracle. A general set of tools wasn’t practical because clients would differ in their source data formats. Once a set of tools was created for any particular client, this combination of SQL Server/Oracle scripts, Microsoft Access queries and Visual Basic 6.0 could be used over and over again to deliver as many iterations of client data as needed.
SLIM – Strategic Lease Information Management
Enterprise wide client server solution designed for real estate managers handling large portfolios. Clients included those listed in this document as well as American Express, CVS, DollarTree, Family Dollar, Morgan Stanley and several other well-known companies. Technology used consisted of Visual Basic 6.0, VB.Net, SQL Server 2000/2005 and/or Oracle 9/10, Microsoft Remote Data Objects and Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects. Project started in 1999 and remained in effect until 2010 and included yearly product upgrades, maintenance and releases.
Responsibilities included gathering client requirements, form/screen design and development, testing and quality assurance and implementation.
Suite consisted of over 100 forms and over 50 code modules. Client projects revolved around SLIM as main component with additional custom integrations available at additional cost as well as data conversions of existing client real estate data. I was hired in 1999 to help complete the SLIM project and over time, became the sole resource for any SLIM work. For almost a decade, SLIM held a strong position among real estate managers as a valuable solution to streamline manager’s day-to-day responsibilities. As the project matured and less new development was required, priorities shifted from working on core solution and more to custom applications designed to facilitate SLIM communicating with client legacy financial systems in place such as SAP.
