Fourth Year Coursework: Porthole Detection and Accident Alarm (PDAA) system The aim of this project is to design and develop a system that will enhance the car ride and reduce accidents by identifying large potholes on the road and notifying the driver in real time.
PDAA is a system to detect potholes using ultrasonic sensors, retrieve their position using GPS sensors and send the signals using the GSM module, the system will send alerts to the driver’s panel in case of a pothole, the driver about the same. For accident identification a Gyroscope has been installed which will detect any turbulence in the motion of the car and send immediate alerts to the emergency contacts of the driver.
Part of 4 member team, completed the project’s design schedule and the system’s hardware components research.
The system’s software component will be coded using C-language, which will interact with the hardware to deliver the functionality.
Defined the problem statement, iteratively cycled through generating ideas by brain storming.
Conceptualized the use case for the Car and Defense industry. TRAINING
