I am an ambitious female Radiographer. I am extremely dedicated and very resourceful in my work. Over the years I have accumulated in-depth knowledge and skills in Mammography as well as Diagnostic Radiography. I have a very good eye for detail with a high degree of accuracy in my work. My unshakeable determination has helped me advance my knowledge academically and professionally. I am an effective and productive team worker able to work with professional experts in other fields.
My aim is to work in an organisation that will utilize and apply my skills as well as complement the advancement of my profession to provide high quality radiologic services and catering to patient’s needs during radiographic examination and procedures
Professional Experience
May 2017 to Present - Nation Hospital, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Radiographer / Mammographer
My role in the department involves rotation between Mammography, Computed Tomography as well as General Radiography. I’m the only Radiographer specialized in Mammography working along with a team of 6 Radiographers. My job involves:
Assess patients and their clinical history and current requirements to determine appropriate radiographic technique.
Independently perform all Mammograms, CT, General and specialized Radiographic procedures to produce high quality images.
Calibrating and performing basic quality assurance of the equipment according to the manufacturer’s requirements.
Ensure all imaging requests are justified and discuss with the referring Physician and Radiologist where needed.
Being part of the Education team and the Breast Cancer Awareness project team.
Assist in more complex Radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist.
Operate the C-arm in theatre procedures.
Observe radiation safety measures / protocols at all times, conforming to regulations concerning the use of radiation protection to the patient, myself as a radiographer, fellow colleagues as well as the public.
Implement infection control procedures for the work area.
Actively involved in the quality improvement activities of the department.
Record imaging identification and patient documentation effectively and accurately and comply with patient confidentiality policy.
Perform any additional duties when required.
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in Radiography and Mammography.
February 2017 to May 2017 - Diagnostic Radiology Services, Netcare Linksfield Hospital, South Africa
Locum Radiographer
This was a temporary Radiographer role while waiting for relocation to the UAE.
This job included rotation between Computed Tomography and General Radiography. My main duties included:
Assess patients and their clinical history and current requirements to determine appropriate radiographic technique.
Independently perform CT, General and specialized Radiographic procedures to produce high quality images.
Help in Theatres with Fluoroscopy and use Mobile Radiography to assist patient in wards and ICU.

I ve received my training and completed my practical s for the different modalities. During the training I was able to have contact with different procedures and techniques that gave me the means to become a dedicated Radiographer. I was able to be introduced to Screening programs, visit the Trauma centre and Theatres.
This was the first time I had direct contact with patients.
