Public Sector – Functional Consultant September 2018 – Ongoing A provincial government organization is upgrading its legacy licensing system that has been in-situ for 25 years. The organization faces challenges with manual reconciliation being required to perform operational activities. The organization is heavily reliant on paper- based application processing with non-uniform processes. This transformation program is moving the entire operational process to a digital platform, aided by a citizen centric portal. The project is employing BasicGov to expedite the design and configuration. Role: With over 200 license types, there are 1000+ different combinations of application submission process, the portal is extremely complex and requires highly detailed and configurable design. The system would cater to more than 90,000 licensees. Akshay is functional lead for delivery of 50 license types and the role entails designing the system architecture, leading offshore delivery team of 10 people and reviewing the final product. Akshay is also performing the current state analysis for data mapping and transformation, and has performed extensive rationalization of current state paper based applications to streamline the process. As part of the solution, Akshay is leveraging his in-depth knowledge of BasicGov to accelerate the development of product and guide the development team about the capabilities and limitations of BasicGov. Public Sector – Deployment and Reporting Lead June 2018 – November 2018 The client is transforming the way it enrolls, manages and tracks professional designations for its current and prospective members. As part of the program, the client required a front office portal that allowed application intake and service requests, and a back-office processing center to perform all subsequent workflows. The program is transformative for the client’s business and requires complex development and configuration, while leveraging the Fonteva accelerator. The platform supports over 100,000 users with more than 10 complex multi-step application intake processes. Role: The deployment process was complicated as the accelerator required complex configuration in each instance. Joining the project after nine sprints, Akshay faced challenges due to lack of documentation regarding development and configuration items. As deployment lead, Akshay worked to create an environment refresh strategy and performed environment upgrades/set ups to allow development team, quality assurance team and users to have access to specific instances for their activities. The instance turnaround time reduced from over 2 weeks to 1 day. Primarily using ANT and Data Loader, Akshay ensured that the go-live was a smooth process. Akshay also led the creation of over 70 complicated reports that were critical to the business of the client. These reports provided a high-level of critical business metrics and required extensive current state vs future state analysis to ensure all edge cases were covered. Public Sector - Functional & Data Conversion Lead November 2017 – June 2018 The client was implementing Salesforce to revamp their licensing and permitting technology. The project covered implementing licensing, permitting, compliance, enforcement and data conversion from the legacy system as well as creating a citizen-facing portal to process, renew and view licenses and permits. The scope of the project covered 10,000 users and over 200,000 historical records. The solution was in the same salesforce org as another business unit, thereby adding complexity due security and privacy issues. Role: Akshay performed multiple roles on the project. Starting as the only functional person on the project, Akshay undertook requirement gathering, system configuration and identified the portal requirements. During development phase, Akshay led two team members to ensure minimal project ramp up and a successful delivery. Following the configuration, Akshay led the complete data conversion and cutover planning from the legacy system to bring over 200,000 records as part of the transition. To ensure a smooth project release, Akshay was also responsible for functional and system training sessions. Post go-live, Akshay provided warranty support and extended user-training sessions to ensure adoption and socialize the new system. The client has since signed additional work to augment their existing salesforce ecosystem.
