Job Description and Responsibilities:
1.Collaborate with health team to create a plan of care for each patient.
2.Responsible in planning and implementing in patients’ care starting from admission until discharge.
3.Vital signs monitoring and administering of drugs, it may be orally, rectally, topically and parental.
4.Assists doctors during rounds and special procedures.
5.Pre-operative care rendered to patients who will undergo minor and major surgery.
6.Monitor patients after surgery, provides care and support during the first hours post operatively until recovery.
7.Responsible in blood extraction for laboratory examination.
8.Perform minor procedures like insertion of intravenous line, folley catheter, removal of central line and electrocardiogram.
9.Attach cardiac monitor to patients.
10.Perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation during code
11.Administer emergency drugs.
12.Perform triage to patients at the out patient department.
13.Ensure safety of the patient
14.Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
15.Helps the community health care teams by coordinating assessment, planning, and providing of needed health and related services.
16.Environmental health that includes monitoring water quality, food safety especially canteens/restaurants. Public health advise on vector control and solid waste management.
17.Hygiene and sanitation aspects includes the all students at school.
18.Disease control including communicable disease assessment infection, complete immunization for all infants, school children as well as elderly. Monitoring disease trends( outbreak and epidemic).
