- Engineered design and development of $1.2M Rapid Growth Data Center, saving company 2 million off their budgeted amount for the project. Quickly built N+1 facility from ground up expanding from 3 racks in a cage to 15 racks within a year. Personally handled all aspects to avoid contractor or managed services fees including leading the team in all planning, specifying requirements, determining power draw and data capacity, purchase, physical installation, network installation, applications, setup of virtual servers, and implementation of fault tolerance on the network.
- Led disaster Recovery Center build out and ensured California-based team delivered ahead of schedule. Coordinated purchasing, receiving, assembling, racking and stacking, networking, imaging, firewalling, and connecting to the main data center via a private fiber line for site comprised of 15 racks and over 150 servers.
- Saved $100K on hardware costs during build of disaster recovery site. Leveraged available resources from yuku subsidiary and sourced F5 BigIP for both data centers, installed ASM, upgraded to version 10 on all 4 units.
- Eliminated network interruptions and enhanced customer experience by rewiring backend private VLAN in Newark to stop crashing of production systems. Established relationships with Akamai to offshore 35 TB of static images and videos.
- Implemented additional 10 servers and 2 new Foundry Core switches to support production network. Meticulously planned and effectively communicated changes to team, ensuring that production systems cutover to the new switches without downtime or any interruption to the network.
- Achieved full redundancy, enabling a competitive edge and ability to advertise as having no single point of failure. Implemented Cisco routers and the Barracuda Load Balancer for Professional Services Environment.
- Negotiated a 25% discount with Dell to support a massive installation of new foundry core switches, bulk upload servers, Sphinx servers, 6 CMS servers, and 10 New Dell servers, effectively saving $30K+.
- Implemented point-to-point circuit between Oakland and Newark Datacenters. Renegotiated with third-party vendor to save
