Work Experience
2014 September to Present – BSM Crew Service Centre Phil. Inc. – HR Manager
Reports to the President of the company, Fleet Directors, Training Director, General Manager and BSM Group HR Head.
The HR Manager is responsible for working with BSM Group Heads, Managers and employees to provide strategic and tactical programs, employee development and other HR specific or business.
The HR Manager serve common needs across those business, focusing on supporting employee training and development for employees.
The Human Resource staff is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development and performance monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
For Senior Officers (Seafarers)
1. Participate in panel interview of senior officer applicants
2. Assists in evaluating the behavioral and psychological competency of senior officer applicants.
3. Provides or gives advice and assistance to the Fleet Director/s when conducting senior officer applicant evaluations.
4. Review and evaluate written materials (e.g. psychological test, character reference, records, educational and employment background) for purposes of finding factors that will help in the evaluation of senior officer.
5. Develop questionnaires and interpret test results thereof
6. Identifies strengths and weaknesses of senior officer applicants; recommends training needs for the betterment of the applicant.
7. Reviews periodically the recruitment procedures/techniques and recommends changes for improvement.
8. Prepares and present oral written reports and responds to request for information.
9. Conducts training of seafarers and coordinates special projects or meetings if required.
10. Identifies and solves procedural which hinder effective and efficient operations of the Recruitment Department.
11. Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of in-house training courses and programs for the purpose of determining whether changes need to be made to ensure appropriate behavioral/psychological development.
12. Above procedures shall also apply for other ranks or seafarers if required by the Management.
For Shore based Staff
1. Supervises and evaluates the work of HR staff in relation to shore based staff.
Studies, analyses and evaluates human resource-related issues/matters; documents findings and formulates recommendations.
Provides consultative expertise to departmental managers and supervisory personnel concerning disciplinary problems and interpretation and enforcement of rules and procedures.
Prepares and assists in the presentation of post-termination and disciplinary / arbitration cases.
Monitors application and selection of candidates for shore based staff.
2. Coordinates the activities of HR officer for purposes of ensuring all appropriate deadlines are met effectively and efficiently (e.g. reporting of new and assigned employee with POEA, submission of monthly reports for tardiness)
3. Participate in meetings that involve a range of issues for purposes of developing recommendations and/or supporting other staff.
4. Monitors and complies with personnel record keeping procedures.
5. Coordinates with all department heads the individual appraisal reports or evaluation and give recommendations thereto.
6. Develops and validates examinations used for employment.
7. Performs special assignments as per request.
8. Reviews and updates policies and manuals.
9. Directs related administrative activities including gathering of performance indicators, reports and correspondence.
10. Facilitate training and development programs for all shore based staff.
11. Lead employee engagement activities, programs, rewards, recognitions and BSM Highlight CSC PH contribution.
