Experience includes engineering, facilities management, staff training & development, project management, design analysis, equipment specifications and data sheet development, material requisitions, bid evaluation and recommendation, vendor technical package review and approval and construction support related to Natural Gas Industry in Pakistan (with special emphasis on Industrial, power generation & process industries), Cement Plant and Hospital Engineering (Mechanical + Facilities Management in Saudi Arabia)

Well versed with application of industry codes/standards: ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM, HTM, AISI, DIN & BS.

Hard facility management, inclusive of HVAC, Electrical, Water / Plumbing System, Medical Gas Pipeline System, Elevator, Firefighting System, Cylinder management, Emergency Generator, Civil works, Hazmat etc.

Soft facility management, inclusive of Housekeeping, Pest Control, Medical Waste Management, General Waste Management, Laundry Management, Asset Management etc.

Working for the Saad Group as Sr. Engineer (Facilities Management / Engineering / O & M), with following responsibilities.

Annual Planning and implementation of Operation and Maintenance of Oxygen VIE’s (vacuum Insulated Evaporators), Compressed Air Plants, Vacuum Plants, Automatic Manifold Systems for CO2, Nitrogen, N2O, Entonox, Wet Vacuum Plants, gas dispensing outlets (terminal points) and AGSS.

Supervision / management of other engineering works like Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, HVAC, Boiler, R.O. Plant.

Supervision of installation work, Testing, Commissioning & Validation of medical gas pipeline system project including plant / equipment (compressors, pumps & manifolds) as per HTM standard (NHS – UK). Trained on MGPS as Competent & Authorized Person by Falfield Park UK.

Managing of general facilities maintenance work.

Interaction with external suppliers and contractors

Management of the engineering / maintenance department and resolution of technical and other issues (administrative).

Conduct technical evaluations of engineering and general items required by the department

Staff training and development.

Team leader for environmental monitoring and inspection services (part of facilities management) including Engineering & maintenance, House Keeping, Infection Control, Fire & Safety and Bio-Medical Engineering. A mandatory requirement of Joint Commission International (JCI).

Coordinate with all the departments from the facilities view point.

Conduct training program on HAZMAT (Hazardous Material), a mandatory training for all staff at the hospital. A requirement of JCI.

Represent Engineering & Maintenance on the Facility management committee across the hospital.

Additional responsibility of “Chemical Safety Officer” for the hospital in addition to the existing ones.

Develop & update Departmental Policies & Procedures (A core requirement of the Joint Commission International Accreditation)

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Flow Measurement) worked on several projects, and was responsible for the followings:

Planning for Annual Procurement (Capital + Revenue)

Project planning / execution for Installation of Flow Measurement devices on customer stations like diaphragm / rotary meters, orifice and turbine meters.

Trained in the O & M of Rotary meters and field proving (flow accuracy test) of same by M/s Dresser Measurement, USA in April 2006 at their factory in Houston, Texas

Trained in the O & M of Turbine meters by M/s Sensus Metering Systems, Inc USA in May 2006 at their factory in Dubois, Pennsylvania.

Completed Small to Medium size Project Engineering & Management (worth around 50 - 80 Million USD)

Natural Gas Pipeline Construction as per ANSI standards (project coordination & support)

Managing Operation & Maintenance Activities at Customer Meter Stations

Writing technical specifications & conducting evaluations of engineering & general items required by the department.

Arranged & conducted in-house training for engineers & technical supervisors on natural gas measurement topics

Customer meter station support as & when required within & outside Karachi. Also provided customer support on technical matters pertaining to natural gas flow measurement & consumption in power plants, process industries etc.

Coordinated & conducted training sessions for various Engineering Institutes’ Internees.

Responsible for carrying out the Training Need Analysis, TNA, for the executive staff, and based on that selected requisite courses accordingly in consultation with the head of the department.

CEMA International Corporation: 1993 -1994

CEMA offers consulting services in the field of HVAC, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. It also has a division of CAD/CAM/CAE that provides high-tech software solutions to industries all over Pakistan. With CEMA I was solely responsible for discovering new markets / customers for various engineering applications of CAD / CAM /CAE Software. I acquired working experience in Word Perfect on MS Windows, Auto CAD Version 12.00, E-mails, and some purely engineering software like ANSYS, Auto Plant etc. I have also worked on firefighting, Water Sprinkler System Project for a 5 star hotel in Karachi (Pakistan).
