Please accept this reference letter for Barbie Gordner, who is the Director of Human Resources/Payroll with San Antonio - AMG Specialty Hospital. Barbie joined this hospital team in June of 2017 under the prior ownership of Acuity Healthcare of South Texas. AMG acquired the hospital facility in June of 2018 and Barbie continued in her HR role under AMG’s ownership. The difficult business decision has been made to close this LTAC hospital campus effective mid-August of 2019 due to location challenges and changes in the governmental reimbursement system, which is absolutely no fault of Barbie’s.

Barbie has been a major HR and Administrative asset to our local San Antonio Team, and the Corporate HR/Payroll Team she has worked so closely with. Barbie is the epitome’ of a professional who takes full ownership of her work responsibilities and cares about people. She is very detail oriented with all of her work and strives to meet all objectives. She has been involved in every facet of Human Resources including: recruiting and interviewing, onboarding, employee retention, benefits and 401(k) enrollments, survey readiness, HR file auditing, progressive discipline situations including terminations, handling of sensitive and difficult employee issues, investigations and so much more. Barbie also handled payroll for the facility, taking great pride in payroll accuracy for her employees.

She is excellent at making sure all the details of handling employee concerns were recognized, addressed and rectified for employee satisfaction. Barbie has trusting relationships with both the leadership team and employees and is very well respected by all both locally and at the Corporate offices.

Barbie is extremely knowledgeable about HR Policies and Procedures (P&P), federal and state laws needed to protect both company and employees. Barbie insured the local Administrative Team maintained consistency following HR P&Ps. She has worked very well with four (4) Chief Executive Officers since 2017, of diverse personalities and leadership styles. Barbie held one of the strongest records of HR excellence with AMG’s Family of Companies with both State and the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ) accreditation survey.

Her contributions and accomplishments here have been infinite during her time with AMG. She has remained loyal and accountable to handle employee HR and Payroll issues; and has been committed to administrative and HR closure support of recent for the hospital, while continuing to model our company’s core values of Integrity, Community, Compassion and Excellence.
