Developed and executed the sourcing strategy for this distributor of custom packaging and operating supplies to the retail, parcel-shipping and self-storage industries. Managed two purchasing professionals in sourcing over 40,000 SKUs in 10 DC's for resale to clients. Directly responsible for domestic and international sourcing and category management of clients' retail and protective packaging.

Lead the sourcing, negotiation, design, and specification of all packaging for over 1200 SKUs in 13 plants. Managed 2 purchasing managers and a contract administrator.

Lead cost savings projects of $3.3 MM from competitive bidding, negotiations, material substitutions, and specification consolidations.

Provided packaging design, specification and sourcing for all new product offerings in various packaging types for branded, food service and private label items.

Developed the supply strategy and led implementation to multi-source major flexible packaging requirements for Gatorade, Snacks and 3 Quaker food divisions, introducing 8 new suppliers.

Through cost modeling, Internet reverse auctions, and competitive bidding and negotiation, reduced spending on existing packaging by over $4 MM.

By challenging packaging specifications, identified alternatives, led testing, and obtained improved performance and reduced costs by over $5 MM across all business units.

Consolidated flexible packaging supply base generating $4.7 MM annual savings, and a reduction in the number of suppliers from 5 to 2.

Led multi-site team in a folding carton supplier consolidation process resulting in $.7 MM annualized savings, single sourcing by site, and a 50% reduction in suppliers.

KIMBERLY-CLARK - SCOTT PAPER

Packaging Optimization Manager • Philadelphia,PA 1989 – 1993

Reported to the Director of Packaging Procurement. Managed 2 packaging engineers in continuous improvement of structures, performance and costs for all U.S. Packaging.
