oidentify existing infrastructure optimization opportunities (increase 15,000 bopd)

oreview fields for expansion/redevelopment opportunities (2 fields under expansion)

oidentify spare processing capacity to maximize utilization of infrastructure (3% Opex cut)

oincorporate reservoir simulation studies to confirm future field delivery potential (extend 1 field life by 10 years)

Production Engineering Team Lead

Chevron, Houston, Texas

August 2013…August 2016

Led a team of Production Engineers supporting reservoir management and offshore operation teams in Houston and Angola in the maturation of new drill and MRWO opportunities and identification and development of production enhancement opportunities in mature waterflood fields.

Directed a multi-discipline and multi-company team to evaluate, design, propose and secure approval for installing slickline deployed ESP’s offshore Angola, becoming the preferred completion alternative with potential saving of ~$1 Billion in workover costs over the next 15 years (the first installations of alternative deployed ESP technology within Chevron). From the success offshore Angola, the technology is being further adapted for deep-water and HP/HT environments within the company.

Provided project management support and the development of initial well completion and artificial lift design for new drills and MRWO’s, identifying new completion technologies; e.g. GeoFORM screens to improve sand control in high angle wells where gravel packs have traditionally failed. Improved well production rates by 3% by allowing for higher drawdowns.

Developed reservoir surveillance, data acquisition and production optimization plans as part of the overarching asset development plans for offshore Angola that improved the number of jobs completed each year by 6% while reducing Opex by 1% through improved planning and logistics.

Developed and managed career growth opportunities for a staff of experienced direct reports.

August 2009…August 2013

Responsible for leading a team of junior reservoir engineers in the establishment of short-medium-long range reservoir management plans for the development and exploitation of offshore Balikpapan oil and gas fields, including monitoring and refinement of mature waterfloods.

Responsible for designing a reservoir development plan for a new gas field which included a long-term gas strategy for all offshore assets used to negotiate and secure a gas supply contract from government and partner stakeholders for 3 BCF, renewable upon contract fulfillment.

Business unit champion for the corporate rollout of a comprehensive reservoir management process, ultimately responsible for reviewing and approving develop plans for existing producing fields including identification of data surveillance needs, timing and placement of new drills and major rig or through-tubing workovers.

Lead team of reservoir engineers in the development of annual business plans and corporate reserves reporting and reviews utilizing traditional reservoir engineering methods while incorporating simulation results as appropriate. Chevron Qualified Reserves Estimator; approved to report and verify SEC reserve recordings.

Mentored junior engineers through the well maturation process, generating realistic 10/50/90 production and cost forecasts to perform detailed project economic analysis. Reduced project cycle time by 2% and increased accuracy of projects meeting projected results to >90%.

Senior Petroleum Engineer

Chevron, Partitioned Zone, Kuwait

September 2005…August 2009

Team Leader for a group of two Earth Scientists, two Reservoir Engineers and a Facility Engineer in the development and review of reservoir management strategies for oil fields in the Partitioned Zone (PZ) of Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Responsible for handling all data collection, review, and transmittal for SAC PZ Concession Extension. Primary contact for technical data discussions between SAC, Chevron and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s MinPet evaluation team. Member of the Concession Extension negotiating team that secured an additional 30-year contract with the Saudi Ministry of Petroleum.

Worked on the behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Partners (Joint Operations and KGOC) to design and execute reservoir management plans including choosing new drill locations, well design and completions, field monitoring through surveillance plans and reducing uncertainty through data collection driven by uncertainty management plans.

Member of the Saudi Arabia Chevron (SAC) Reservoir Management Leadership Team responsible for meeting with Joint Operations and KGOC RMLT members to set budgets and provide strategic direction for the continued development of the PZ.
