Took over and turned around a waste water treatment plant project (which was two years behind schedule and negatively impacted by poor owner/stakeholder relationships); completed facility startup in eight months through skillful pre-planning, execution, and collaboration with the sanitation authority. Recognized by Corps of Engineers staff for timely design and delivery of a heating/refrigeration plant at the Pentagon that featured a centralized distributed control system along with ten 3,750-ton and six 40,000 pound/hour fully automated boilers. Managed complex, multi-level projects at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station to provide two million gallons of jet fuel stored in two aboveground tanks—the demolition phase involved removed of three 600,000-gallon underground tanks and pumps. Seamlessly integrated new capabilities with existing fueling operations after having expanded original contract value 50%, from $17M to ~$26M.
Delivered a complex project on time and within budget, including installation of: 250 linear feet of 60” steel pipe to bypass first-step lime reaction tanks; an 80 MGD bypass pump system to maintain operations during a two-week shutdown to inspect/ replace eight 60”/36” butterfly valves; and a new ferric chloride chemical injection system.
Played a key role in the West Valley Vitrification Plant’s time and material contract making $24M+.
Completed and delivered multi-level projects ahead of schedule, including construction of electrical duct banks, process piping installation, site work, paving, and erosion control.
Developed a carbon source to influent wastewater to supply necessary energy/cell-building materials for metabolic activity of denitrification bacteria in filter systems, including a new influent pumping station, control room, and pipe gallery as part of a methanol feed and storage system.
