RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating equipment like pumps ( Vertical & Horizontal ), metering pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, fans, vessels, pipe lines, refrigeration system, valves, safety valves, electrical actuators, RO unit membranes, UF unit membrane, ERD systems and firefighting system
• Mechanical maintenance of intake, DAF system, Chemical plant, UF Unit with 20 numbers, RO unit with 11 numbers with ERD system, fire tube boiler- 2 numbers, re-carbonation and firefighting system
• Suggesting methods to implement/expedite repairs on failed rotating equipment; and to improve designs to improve the reliability of troublesome equipment.
• Developing maintenance or overhaul procedures for equipment’s associated with routine repairs.

Kozhikode Diesel Power Plant (KDPP):
KDPP is the second diesel power generating station of Kerala state electricity board. There are 8 no of generators installed in this plant and each has a capacity of 20MW. Total capacity is 120MW. The prime mover used at KDPP is 18 V 46 C WARTS1LA diesel engines. It is a 4 stroke turbo charged and inter cooled engine with direct twin fuel injection. The engine uses two fuels - primary fuel being LSHS. Diesel is used for starting and stopping purposes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mechanical maintenance and trouble shooting of diesel engines, compressors, boilers, rotating equipment’s, radiators, FD fans, Exhaust systems, DM plant, Fuel treatment system, cooling water systems and firefighting system
• Engine start up and monitoring, with daily report making and evaluating the performance
• Plan and schedule the predictive and preventive maintenance
• Coordinating with operation for each equipment maintenance as per desired time
• Prepare procedure for each equipment and system maintenance
