Systems Performance Engineer

Manage geographical area of cell sites containing VoLTE, LTE (Ericsson) and CDMA, EVDO (Nokia) equipment integrating and optimizing the network to provide optimal customer experience.

Participated in first U.S. carrier deployment of an LTE (4G) network. Work with vendors and colleagues to identify best practices and evaluate feature performance to maintain best in class network performance. Collaborate with the planning team to identify locations to deploy cell sites to improve coverage and capacity in the network.

Manage competitive baseline program, supervising a team of technicians in collecting drive/venue data to compare the performance of the network against the other major carriers. Schedule technician routes and equipment upgrades to ensure project is completed within the time constraints. Compile, analyze the data, and assemble reports for presentation to directors and corporate outlining the results for the internal and third party competitive testing.

Address priority 1 customer complaints and trouble tickets by examining/interpreting performance metrics to identify potential issues within the network and direct teams to a quick resolution of the issue. Telular Corporation, Vernon Hills, Illinois 1997-2001 A $50M firm of 200 employees focused on the design and manufacture of fixed wireless terminals to allow fax/data over cellular network and wireless alarm panels for the security industry. Hardware Design Engineer

Participated in the design and qualification testing of wireless terminals to simulate land line phone systems for multiple international telecom standards.

Simulated the telecom systems through the use of microcontroller based analog and digital circuitry and verified that the systems operated correctly under the AMPS, TDMA, CDMA and GSM cellular standards.

Interfaced with production to minimize the cost along with maximizing the reliability of the units being manufactured. Outlined the procedures required to test the equipment and to maximize the throughput for the test station while minimizing the operator interface in the testing process.

Designed Automated Test Equipment to functionally verify the proper operation of the cellular products. Specified hardware and software interfaces for the test equipment and worked with software engineers in the integration of the equipment utilizing C/C++ and LABVIEW into the test station.
