Senior Quality Engineer (Steering Switches)

Responsible for planning and coordination of quality programs and activities to ensure the quality and reliability

Lead and monitor continuous improvement projects using quality tools such as Kepner-Tregoe, Kaizen tools and DMAIC

Develop and monitor quality plans and quality engineering tasks, as well as, manufacturing process validations and controls to ensure compliance with established requirements and regulatory expectations

Conduct internal (FCA Plants) and external (Supplier plants) audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions

Implementation of safe launch procedures for new programs and controlled shipping procedures for quality spills with plan to exit within a reasonable time frame.

Review of PPAP and coordination with Supplier Quality Engineer to approve PPAP submission.

Tracking quality issues from date identified, to date closure using a robust PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act).

Lead and coordinate bi-weekly quality meetings to go through lessons learned and read across to common lines of programs to ensure repeat issues don’t occur.

Drive warranty improvement activities and responses towards the customer using WCM, 8D methodology.

Create and update quality documents such as operator work instructions, control plan, safe-launch plan, quality check plan and PFMEA. Train and present documentation to the quality team.
